Great cd. I saw John Burr in Evanston, IL, with the Alison Brown Quartet. He has a very smooth style that can be a great background in a combo setting, but he has great character in solos. A very smooth style but with a lot of jazz overtones. I particularly liked "Ireland" and "IF I Do Not Return" but also liked "A Christmas Lullaby" and others. A very listenable cd. I'm looking forward to more.

I bought this on a lark in a record shop when my son was a newborn. I figured anything put out by a Children's Music Workshop had to be quality. It far surpassed anything I could have imagined. I found myself singing the songs, even when alone. Each song has its own flavor, from slightly country on 11-Gallon Hat to downright bluesy on Sky Blue Catfish. I find myself giving it to new parents as a great musical introduction for their babies. Pick up a copy--you will be glad you did!
