I've been a fan of Jessica Simpson's since "I Wanna Love You Forever" and after listening to that song, if you do become a fan, it's clear why...her voice. I like her as a person, she can be funny on Newlyweds, personally I think it's a bit of an act, I don't think she's as stupid as she makes out, but if she is, good for her for making loads of money.

Back to the music, her latest album is country, some people haven't taken to it and some people will just dismiss it simply because it's Jessica Simpson, I personally love it, but that's a different review. On "A Public Affar" the songs are just like her first two albums, very pop, but for me, it's her voice that always comes out on top, she might not be in the same league as Mariah ... Read More:

Unlike her former partner, Jessica Simpson didn't deliver a depressing album full of heartbreak after the divorce was finalized (probably because she's the one that filed for divorce). While A Public Affair isn't her best album (see Irresistible for that), there are still enough good songs to find.

This is another one of those cases where I looked at the other reviews (well, the reviews of the album's original release, anyway) and now I'm wondering if those are the kind of reviewers that think one star and five stars are the only options. I saw Patty at a Strawberries (Remember Strawberries?) company conference in Providence Rhode Island supporting the release of this album. I was blown away. Her live performance is raw and refined at the same time. She has a gift for lyric. I think her best work is when she is alone with her guitar, therefore, my love for this album and her latest live release.

What needs to be said about the Dixie Chicks and their first two albums with Natalie Maines as lead singer? Perhaps you, like myself, got interested in their music after Natalie's comment about George W. Bush. Or perhaps you made the mistake of throwing their CD's out to be crushed, only to realize three years later that they were right all along, and now wish you can be forgiven. It does not matter. Songs like Cowboy Take Me Away, Wide Open Spaces and Goodbye Earl are all time classics. If you paid no attention to these songs before, you have no idea what you are missing. This is the first CD I bought of the dixie chicks, and nothing compares to this album. It's amazing and I love every song. My favorite song on this album is "Fly", the lyrics are wonderful. This CD is a great cd to sing to in the car.
