This Cd combines the soound of a hard swinging organ trio with the trio of 3 very tasteful Tenor Sax Giants.
The blues is everywhere on this CD, and the group swings...
It is a bit difficult to find out who is playing what...when it comes to the sax players... I think I can hear when it s Eric Alexander playing because you can almost "hear" Stanley Turrentine... this is what makes Alexander so enjoyable in my ears...but Ralph Lalama and Tad Shull are also performing at top level. Mel Rhyne and his trio is the perfect backup and they deliver some tasty solos as well.
Yeah... this sextet is really worth listening to.
