this disc is a lot of fun - especially for a couple of really great ike @ tina tracks that i'd never heard before ("just to be with you", "tell her i'm not home"), and while the compilation does resort to using filler to pack in two discs of material (thus the 3 star rating), there are about ten excellent tracks on here that any soul music fan may not have heard and would love to have. my favorites are as follows: "rainin' in my heart" by the olympics, "don't hold on to someone" by lukas lollipop, an excellent version of "a change is gonna come" by roy redmond, "try" by lorraine ellison (not sure if this is the original version or not but it's great), "i'm the lover man" ... More Motion: A Collection

"More Motion" does the job: it provides a basic overview of Trenchmouth's releases (4 full-length LPs and some singles & splits) and thus fills in the awful gap that was left when each of those releases went out-of-print. That said, this collection's only real problem is that which any single-disc overview faces, which is that so much great music gets left out. So. I'd give the band and their music a full 5 stars, but this release only 4.

Trenchmouth was difficult to classify. The first time I saw them live, I didn't like them at all. It was like this big funky bag of slippery yet sharp & jagged edges. Tough to hold. The Clash and the Bad Brains were clear influences, but Trenchmouth was its own mutant monster ... Read More:

Man, I just checked this album out, and I have to say - it is AMAZING. I read some reviews that said it was too poppy and whatnot, but I don't care about that. I'm all over this like mold on blue cheese. It is like classic Domine mixed with Freedom Call, with a sprinkle of Stratovarius for good measure. If you like your metal super melodic, overly cheesy, painfully happy and performed by top-notch power metal veterans, then this is for you.
