Sadness Will Prevail

I love everything about this album, EXCEPT for the lo-fi production values. I wonder if Steve Austin keeps things lo-fi to keep some of their original indie cred to them, keeping them from being orthodox members of the extreme metal crowd.

Really, he wouldn't have to worry. I remember seeing Austin as a wee lad opening for I don't remember who at the Uptown Bar in Minneapolis. It wasn't near as Metal, but it was all the excruciating anguish and dissonance that you hear on _Sadness Will Prevail_. Fast forward fifteen years and I am a full-blown Mastodon fanatic and I find out that drummer extraordinaire Brann Dailor honed his chops with Austin. And then I work my way to this album--HOLY OF UNHOLIES!!! ... Read More:

Final Fantasy III: Original Sound Version

Search: Invincible
by: Nobuo Uematsu

Release Date
This is an item definetly worth adding to your collection, if you're a fan of Final Fantasy, 8-bit music or Uematsu. I've never before heard such fantastic music coming from a console so melodically limited as the Famicom. It is obvious that Uematsu put some time into making this. More time than he spent composing for Final Fantasy V, that's for sure. Buy it on cd or buy it over the net, it's worth the money if you like this kind of music.

Release Date September 03, 2002
I think this album doesn't get the praise it deserves. If you ask me, this album showcases how hard rockin' these guys can get. The ante is upped from their previous albums, and their at the top of their game before their fall with the next 2 albums, though they bring it up a bit with The 8th Sin. However, this is NR at the top of their game. The riffs are fast, the coruses are catchy and headbang-inducing. The lyrics tend not to make much sense, but then again then never do with power metal bands, but that's OK because the music transcends far beyond whatever the hell they're saying.

Again, this is a power metal masterpiece, a must-have for any fan of the genre. If you were to pick any NR album to own, THIS IS THE ONE! ... Read More:

Search: Invincible
by: Vic Latino

Release Date October 08, 2002
Wow, Vic looks like a femine 'JIMMY POP' from the Bloodhound gang. The cd's ok, but man Vic, are times that hard? "one of the most influential radio DJ's in the USA"? Really? He's no Kid Kelly.

Another You Another Me

Search: Invincible
by: H & Claire

Release Date February 04, 2003
These ex-Steps members have stuck close to the Steps sound with songs like "DJ" and "Half a Heart" but have also incorporated more American-ized pop music as illustrated in "Centre of My Heart", "You're a Love Song", and "Too Close to Tears". Of course, they have to carry on their tradition of covering some old songs like "Beauty and the Beast" and the title track "Another You Another Me" written by ABBA's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus (actually, it's not really a cover, but it was written back in 1985 and ABBA never recorded it). Some of the songs seem really generic American pop, but seeing that pop has faded from the musical scene, this album was very refreshing to listen to.

I guess that now that the CDs called "Greatest Hits" and "All Fired Up" are out of print, the present compilation is one of your few opportunities to put your hands of some sort of "Best Of".

This disc lifts tracks from her beginnings up to 1993's "Gravity's Rainbow". Some of her largest hits are here, but there's quite a few "misses" as well: why do "Lift 'em On Up" and "Cerebral Man" end up on here is a mystery.

And why use 3 "edited" versions (tracks 6,11 and 13); there's plenty of room left!

The disc however is probably the most extensive in displaying PB's ... Read More:
