Actually, I am not a great fan of spiritual music at all. But listening to Kelby's voice and her beautiful and very melodical songs is a great pleasure. Since I am a fan of hers since her early days as a worldcup windsurfer (then named Anno), for me this record has a special meaning. It stands for us all getting older and changing our priorities and our attitude towards life. As time moves on and Kelby keeps up producing such wonderful music, maybe one day I will become a believer...I am looking forward to a merry christmas with my wife and daughter (who love the music, too), underlaid with Kelby's songs!

"Dance Music for a New Generation"; and that's precisely what Tazmania "Freestyle" is. As far as I am concerned, this series of compilations has bred a truley unique and memorable series of artists and songs. Hard slamming beats and lyrics touch the heart and soul. And most of these artists can sing too! Check out Stefanie Bennett's "Don't Let Me Go" and "Never Too Late". Pure Pleazure is awesome with "I Need You Now", and "When Will You Come Back to Me"....these two guys can sing! This is the first cd in the compilation and has been out since 1993, so pick it up before one day you may not be able to. This cd is a must for your collection.

Let me put it this way: "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Ahem. You'll have to excuse me, but I really don't know how else to explain it. This music is- Oh my God. It's...words fail me. I mean, I'm a pretty experienced garage rock collector, but I had no idea that music this raw, this powerful, this absolutely brutal, existed. For a fan of obscure sixties snarl, this is the Holy freaking Grail. It's like... Oh my God. Oh my God.
The songs. Listen to these songs. Listen to the absolutely ridiculous onslaught of Paul Bearer & The Hearsemen's "I've Been Thinking," to the sound of those gigantic guitar chords, they way they electrify the air around them. Listen to those knee-buckling vocals, those storming rhythms. Oh my ... Read More:

When the Met did its first production of Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites in 1977, there was only one recording of this opera available in the U.S., the one recorded during the composer's lifetime. Then came a video from Australia in the late '80s, a spiffy new CD set from the Lyon Opera in 1992, and with the composer's centennial in 1999 several other videos and soundtracks, including ones in German and the original Italian (for the La Scala premiere in 1957). It was Poulenc himself who wanted the opera to be sung in translation, and Chandos has honored his wish by committing to CD a fine production by the English National Opera. This succinctly-titled version uses a new libretto with numerous subtle revisions that make the text easier ... Read More:

Usually these NOW compilations feature a few great hits and tons of trivial songs. Now 55 is the latest exception. Both CD1 and CD2 have great songs. Only a few are songs that don't matter. CDONE 1. RKelly-Ignition Remix(B+) Great tune, cool lyrics. 2. 50Cent-In Da Club (B) Good rap song about "da club". 50 Cent is a good rapper. (let's hope for PIMP on now56) 3. Justin Timberlake-Cry Me A River (C) I don't like Justin in the first place. This is probably his best song. It's not a compliment. 4. Wayne Wonder-No Letting Go (A-) A song that isn't overplayed on the radio, and it's a great song. 5. Javine-Real Things (C) Whatever. 6. Kym Marsh-Come On Over (C) Whatever...again. 7. Girls Aloud-No Good Advice ... Read More:

These days, there are just so many classic acts of the Motown era that've been all but forgotten, in favor of soul wannabe acts like Ciara, Ashanti, and Ruben Studdard from American Idol that just don't have the appeal of the classic days of soul that were just astonishing. That happened long ago, especially with Smokey Robinson. Even though he hasn't scored a hit record in years, the soulfulness he has made for so many eras of lovers has not lost its edge. The songs still are just delightful to listen to. Now, another hits record has surfaced that shines so bright on one of the most classic singers of all time.
The 2006 Smokey Robinson & The Miracles Gold, is a nearly definitive, and well-conjured hits record that showcases Smokey, and 40 of his biggest ... Read More:
