This was a good remix album that New Kids On The Block put out during their hugely successful period. They toured during 1990 and 1991 at a relentles pace, selling out everywhere to promote their Step By Step album's songs. Perhaps the funkiest of the remixes is Games, which is catchy, funky hard hitting enough to confront their toughest critics and naysayers! Sounds very close to the siren/tornado sounds of rap group Public Enemy! Another standout is the C+C Remix of Call It What You Want, which also ended up on their Greatest Hits album in 1999. It's just as danceable and funky today! The other numbers like Hangin Tough, Step By Step and other rare remixes are just as good. I was very impressed with this collection. It is so much fun to hear their early hits from late 80's/early 90's and I was excited to get the beautiful Donnie Wahlberg/Seiko duet on disc 2 which I hadn't heard in a long time. Plus the lyrics are included so people like myself can see in print that what I'd been singing for years were not the right words! So, this would be a good introduction for anyone curious about New Kids' earlier stuff or for any fan from back in the day whose cassettes were worn out long ago.

This was a good remix album that New Kids On The Block put out during their hugely successful period. This compilation focuses almost exclusively on rarities and previously unreleased tracks from the Malaco label's vaults. Malaco, of course, is probably one of the very few labels still recording and releasing REAL Soul music and this collection gives you a good overview of the label's sound an d style. The songs by Sam Dees, Dorothy Moore, The Patterson Twins, Tommy Tate, Anita Mitchell, Charles Warren and Carolyn Faye are my favorites but the whole CD is very good. Both ballads and more uptempo tracks are featured here.

I am French and in France, country music is not so popular as in the US.
And it is true that for most of us, this kind of music sounds more like our own traditional folkloric music, which means simple heavy repetitive songs scarcely inspired. During my professional travels in the US, I had the opportunities to listen to various singers, not bad, like Garth Brooks or Tim McGraw. On Amazon.com, I have also the possibility to listen to the presently most famous singers (male and female) but without being convinced. Music is generally stereotyped and finally boring.
