There isn't much I can say about this beautiful movie, except that it was so touching!
It say's go for the "true love", settle for nothing else no matter what may be in store, because love that is "true" and as beautiful as their's was, is a rare thing!
I absolutely loved the ending.
I also loved that a movie CAN be truly wonderful, beautiful and touching WITHOUT grafic "sex scenes!" Also sadly a rare thing in movies today.

Ever seen "Hanover Street?" Equally beautiful. No SEX scenes either!

For so long I have dispaired about "Newgrass" and other adulterated mutant forms of the best genre of music ever created, Bluegrass. But along comes this group, and they got it right. They have to have it in their soul like I do, to be able to play and sing like that. "A Little Unfair" is my favorite on this CD, a work that appears so effortlessly sung by their guitar player Russell Moore. What a voice. The backup instrumental arrangements are so tight and perfect--Flatt & Scruggs would be proud to call it their own, in their heyday. I have a Barbershop, 4 part harmony background, and whoever sings bass in this group also has a rare, unique talent. This CD is great. If you like old ragtime music, it will have you up dancing and clapping. John Arpin plays these songs with little improvisation, so they sound like you expect them to. I just ordered "My Favorite Requests" CD by John Arpin, which is a little more "mellow." He is an excellent and versatile pianist and also has classical CD's available.

I haven't listened to the American arrangement of Come On Over, but I will say that this arrangment is brilliant! This album just flows so well, the mixing and production is very, very good. The mixture of styles is excellent and still contains that country feel really well. Her ballads like "From this moment on", "You've got a Way" and "You're still the one" show of her voice, whereas the album is still jam-packed with sing-along songs that gets you going for a really good night out! I love the way she can speak what she feels and this is a brilliant woman's album (it makes you feel good). You get carried away when you're listening to it and I now know all the words by heart. Quite an example of uneven sound quality that is totally unforgiveable in this current day and age. I was very excited to finally find this "LP" on CD and couldn't wait to play it...however, when the CD arrived I could not believe how poor the sound quality was...drop-outs, surface noise, distortion--simply unplayable. I have heard direct transfers from LP to CD that sound waaaaaay beter than this garbage. My happy ending is that a few years later I was lucky enough to discover the Ides of March CD on the Rhino Handmade label. It was like Magic!--What a difference professional sound quality makes.

Doc Watson is without doubt one of the best guitarist in the world in the area of folk/bluegrass music. Above that, he is a genuine lovable down to earth person and it is a real joy to hear him tell the stories on this album. I've been a Doc Watson fan since first hearing him play about 1973 and I never get tired of listening to his brilliant guitar playing or his wonderful vocals. A true American icon, I can't get enough of him. This ablum is truly special because of the interviews that seem to bring him into your living room. Love it!
