This album is great, maybe better than great, and you can't beat the full sound that a record provides. I was satisfied with my purchase because the pressing was a 28 gram record with the fabulous re worked edge, the only way the sound quality could improve now is if it was two 12" 45's like the in rainbows double record set. I was only disappointed by one aspect of the album art; I was expecting the record to fold out into a panoramic of the art (Like on the CD case, only much larger), it doesn't, but that hasn't stopped me from listening repeatedly.

I liked so much this one, because of Harrowdown Hill, I love that song since I heard in The Eraser album, simply brilliant! good single!

This album is aimed to please all your techno senses. It takes a few listens to develop a palate for the blend which is well worth the wait when Ellen delivers her definition of dirty, sexy, dark, acid techno. She provides a crossover adventure that steers aways from the minimal techy set trend which is so common today while pulling out the bangers and crowd pleasers coupled with some electronic contemporary that is heavely mixed and true to club form which seperates this fabric from others I've heard. This album will not disappoint if you love techno, it is satisfying and surprising. I would have rated 5 stars but for the price tag. It is a bit steep for what you get.

The four b-side songs definitely go off on a slightly different tangent from the sound of "The Eraser" thus it's easy to see why Thom decided not to include them. However, together on this 5 track EP they actually mesh quite well. Darker than anything on "The Eraser", the ambience on here has a strong resemblance to Autechre but the cleverly composed vocals add a new dimension that is completely original. This is Thom at his most angry and dismal, but it's as brilliant as ever.
