I really enjoy this cd. I can't wait to hear more from this band in the near future. They have a unique, quality, intense sound to them that sets them off from a lot of other bands out there. I highly recommend this CD.

For those Klaatu fans who appreciated Dee Long's contributions to that group, namely superb lead guitar work and tasty sci fi influenced rock, you won't be disappointed by this release. First of all, the production and overall sound of disc is terrific. If I was a musician, I would love to have Dee be my producer! Album is hard rocking with typical Dee Long touches including more space influenced themes. Even "einstein" makes a lyrical appearance, not once, but twice. "I will wait for you" is the album's standout track but the disc is solid from start to finish.

If you were turned off by the crippling mediocrity of the last remix album, ReDickulous, don't be. This is everything a remix album should be: dancey stompy industrial spins on the originals while maintaining their spirit. Most of the tracks here are good, and some are vastly superior to the Screwtinized originals. Almost the entire album was remixed, with the odd exception of some of the best tracks, Ogopogo and Aint Talkin Bout Love. Perhaps they thought to leave well enough alone.

Dirty District, Vol. 3

As all the Dirty District volumes always promises, a variety of underground and signed artists, as well as a fine mix of old school artists like Al Hudson (One Way), on fresh brand new tracks. What sets this Vol 3 apart from the previous 2 volumes to me is the clever infusion of R&B strategically placed to break the rap music up in sections. It gives the feeling of what mix tapes USED to sound like back in the early to mid 90's, a must have for the J-Dilla inspired fans out there, you wont be disapointed.

Although this 'best of' is all I own from this group, it's more than enough for when I'm in one of those alternative music moods. This is a great introduction to a unique and unpredictable group. They've been around over 20 years and have been unjustly overlooked by most. If the 'Beatles' are the most overrated band in the history of the world, then 'Controlled Bleeding' would be the most underrated. This group can be heavy when it wants to be as demonstrated on disc one, or darker and more melodic as is evident on disc two on this two cd collection. This music can be for almost anybody, or for almost any type of mood.
