I remember when these were first reissued, at least the videos.... My friend (7 or 8 year younger than I am - he hadn't really sen them) and I were in a huge media superstore, and they were playing them on the monitor. I was watching "Figure Eight" and my friend, finished with his shopping, came up to me and said "Why are you crying?"
I hadn't noticed that I was, but there was something very wonderful about seeing it again, always thinking it was a forgotten footnote of my childhood. It's wonderful to know that I'm not alone and that these are still pertinent enough to still be teaching kids something all these years later. I don't know if it's the chords or the little daydreaming girl, but "Figure Eight" still moves me to tears every ... Read More:

I couldn't believe how someone claimed fans of The Used will like this. They don't even fit in the same genre....
This CD has great moments. Dissertation: 14 and Figure Eight are as catchy as they come, but all other songs fit into Hot Cross's usual routine - hardcore dabbed with screamo. All lyrics on this CD are meaningful in some way. Casey Boland's guitar work is fantastic. Billy's vocals are extremely unique, but the same as they always have been. If you're enjoying this CD, don't stop here. Get Fair Trades and Fair Wells and take in their new sound. I imagine they're trying to sound less like Saetia as possible.
