The Young Picnickers was released by the Pearlfishers in 1999. It followed in much the same style as "Tall Poppies" but added more keyboards and production but with slightly less-dominant giotar. Here are some of highlights from the album:
The first song, We're Gonna Save The Summer, has a Beach Boys style chorus and a Crosby, Stills and Nash influence on the verses.
An Ordinary Day Out In The Suburbs is slightly reminiscent of the song, Abandoned Luncheonette, by Hall and Oates (from 1973).
We'll Get By has both Carole King and Burt Bacharach influences in both its production and its chord structiures.
The title track, The Young Picnickers, is an instrumental (there is usually one instrumental ... Read More:

While it's true that the early Royal Hunt albums pale in comparison to the DC Cooper-era releases, they are still good albums that are unfairly looked over.
Land of Broken Hearts was the band's debut album. If nothing else, you have to admire Royal Hunt for debuting with a keyboard-heavy, melodic metal sound at a time when that style was not very well received. The songs on Land of Broken Hearts are a bit uneven. There are some filler tracks on the album, but it also features some of the band's all-time classics, such as Flight, Age Gone Wild, Kingdom Dark, Stranded, and the title track, which is a personal favorite of mine.
Vocalist Henrik Brockmann does an admirable job, but it's hard to see him as anything more than a placeholder ... Read More:

As a music fan I am grateful for labels like Collectables, Wounded Bird and Collectors' Choice; if not for them, we would be missing much of the best from pop music's last 50 years.
After a successful catalog reissue campaign for Dionne Warwick, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Dean Martin, Collectors' Choice is now doing the same for one of the greatest talents in American music: Nat King Cole.
Prior to their Collectors' Choice reissue, some of the albums included in this box set were available only as expensive and hard to find imports, the others not being available on CD at all.
The NAT KING COLE: COLLECTION BOX SET VOLUME 1 spans the Capitol Records years, from 1952-1965. Each of the 9 CDs consists of two albums with original ... Read More:

Just One of Those Things/Let's Face the Music is a great twofer CD that has all the songs from two of Nat King Cole's record albums entitled Just One Of Those Things and Let's Face The Music. The sound quality is excellent; and the artwork is fantastic.
The CD track set begins with Nat King Cole singing his heart out on "When Your Lover Has Gone;" Nat sings this along with a fine Billy May arrangement that makes great use of the brass. "Who's Sorry Now?" gets a rather jazzy, upbeat arrangement that is distinctly different from the version sung by Connie Francis; Nat takes this song and places his own stamp on it with his incredible timing. The arrangement really works well for this ballad. Listen also for "Once In A While;" this love song sparkles like ... Read More:
