I'm almost ashamed to admit it, because I've grown up listening to the old João Gilberto & Stan Getz versions of Tom Jobim's songs, but there are a few recordings on this CD that I like even BETTER than the originals! In particular the versions of Agua de Beber and Aguas de Março are spectacular. Anyone who likes Bossa Nova will love this CD.

this is one of my most favorite CDs of Brazilian guitar [or violao as it is called in Brazil] !!! Maestro de Oliviera gives a unique & exotic repertoire [Brazlian regional folk music as well as classical extrapolations of the same music] a well-recorded & well played atmospheric environment & production consistent throughout the entire CD... a real diadem of interesting yet unusual Brazilian music !!!

.............never heard of Karryn Allison until just now? I am nearly 60 years old and love love love "musica brasileira" from almost anyone who can pull off a good recording. This CD is just amazing, and I've heard lots of artists try to record these songs.
I spent 2 years in Brasil many years ago and loved what I heard so have always loved the music. Karryn has a great voice and I am going to go seek out other things she has done.
