the score is good, but this cd wouldve been better if they would have thrown in some of the songs. I would have loved to get whatever song was playing during the scene where monkeybone is dreaming on the golf course and hpnos interrupts him. Also not to be missed was Brendan Fraser singing Brickhouse. They missed some great opportunities with this cd.

The down side to this CD is if you've heard/seen anything else by Fatel, then a good amount of the material here will be very familiar. The plus side is that the guy still makes it so funny it hurts. Also, the bonus recording of his first standup performance is a nice addition.

If you ask any fan of GAINSBOURG which songs they like best, chances are they they will have many sung by FRANCE GALL,BRIGITTE BARDOT,FRANCOISE HARDY,JANE BIRKIN,R?GINE,JULIETTE GR?CO etc. There are only a few duets featured in this collection. If you don't have anything from him,it is certainly a good overview of his career, even if i prefer the 3 cds DE GAINSBOURG ? GAINSBARRE.There is a booklet with a short biography, and each disc is in an enveloppe with a different picture of SERGE through the years. The famous HISTOIRE DE M?LODY NELSON a concept album ,is featured in it's complete version which is a good thing, but i wonder why they did not included L'HOMME ? TETE DE CHOU,another concept album that is only featured in a track.I ,like many enjoy best ... Read More:

If you like Brigitte, France Gall, Serge Gainsbourg or 60's ye-ye then you need to buy this. There are some really amazing songs on here (like all the Serge Gainsbourg one's). Even if you have the DVD, you need to get this since some of Brigitte's best songs from the 60's are on this that aren't on the DVD. Even though Brigitte is no France Gall when it comes to her vocal skills, she has a real beautiful voice that's amazingly complimented by Serge's brilliant arrangements!!!

I really like the musicality and range that Fay covers in her tunes. Fay is an undiscovered jewel. From the melancholic of No More Lying to the super energetic and angry Ten Days to the dreamy - dancy When I'm With You, she offers something for everyone. Fay's voice fits the rock (check out Exposed or the later section of What's Going On) but I prefer her sounding sultry, smooth and seductive on 24-7 and Obsession. One and only is nearly country, and its a catchy melody - I can't get out of my head. Reading the credits, it looks like Boston based producer/engineer and keyboarder Tim Lukas from [...] threw in everything and the kitchen sink, including the famous Tony Levin, Adam Deitch, Torsten De Winkel and about 40 other musicians to give each tune its own ... Singer, songwriter, filmmaker, poet, and provocateur, Serge Gainsbourg was a chain-smoking French icon. Best known only for his heavy-breathing hit, "Je T'Aime, Moi Non Plus" (recorded with his muse, Jane Birkin, who even simulated an orgasm on the song), a recent series of "Best of" compilation discs will hopefully give Gainsbourg the worldwide posthumous recognition he always deserved while he was alive. Gainsbourg's music is a fusion of classical, ballads, chanson, jazz, kitsch, mambo, pop (in all its forms), bossa nova, rock, reggae, disco, erotic, downtempo chillout lounge, and hip-hop. His lyrics were clever exercises in Franglais triple-entendres. He lived the life of cigarettes, alcohol, and seduction depicted in his songs. This 19-track 2005 compilation ... Read More:

This review is on Space Hymn as I've already reviewed "Presenting."
I remember seeing this album in record stores several times in the late 60's but never had the money to buy it. I finally got a copy when a former rock DJ sold a bunch of his albums at Incrilik AB in Turkey. After listening to it a few times, I could hear all of what I expected from the Hand People. However, some of the songs I just didn't like as well. They may be more complex, or just plain different. I don't know, but they just don't have the spark or the quirkiness of the first album.
Yes I Love You is the one track that sticks out the most in my mind, and it is not even one of my favorites! Overall, this is still a good album but nowhere near as memorable or influential ... Read More:
