The song for which I bought the album, a hilarious account of the Queen's bedroom invasion, has undergone some bad changes and emerges rather tediously in this rendering. The rest of the album isn't as spectacular as I recall Sparrow's earlier work being, either, and some of the lyrics are somewhat disturbing, in terms of gender politics and so on. Of course, you might ask, what on earth are you doing, looking for such things in Soca lyrics? The music is bouncy and pleasing.

I'm not really into "jazz" per se but Melissa Forbes' jazz-soul-pop crossover style has won me over in a major way! From the superb vocals to the stunning production, "No More Mondays" is an album which oozes class. Melissa Forbes sings with power, soul, sincerity and warmth and she is backed by a top-rate band. I have listened to these songs over and over again and they're still satisfying me - a sure sign that something original is happening here! Keith sings and you can understand him. Some different live songs, and Jack White sings on Loving Cup. If you are a middle aged rock fan, try White Stripes if you want to feel like you're still in touch with something from this century, although I later heard it in the Safeway supermarket. Anyway, Keith sings Connection, and Christine Agguilerra sings on Live with Me. The standards, Jumpin Jack Flash, Brown Sugar, but well worth the ride. I'm singing along on the beltway with it!

Die hard fans of the Stones will be disappointed with this CD. It is comprised of clips of weathered looking Stones interspersed with some abbreviated interviews. The overall affect was was boring. The only redeeming points were the duet with Christina Aguilera and Bill Clinton introducing and hugging the band members. Mick never looked so bad, but he can still move.
If there was a point that Sorcese was trying to make, I missed it.
I'm sorry I bought into all the presale hype. It wasn't worth it for me.
