It is hard to find covers like Kashmir with Ann Wilson and Roger Daltrey, this CD begins with a circa 8 min long version with outstanding orchestration and Daltrey efforts to reach the notes, but his voice even now likes me more than Robert Plant's...well, that's the reason i don't like Led Zep but the covers indeed.

I had the pleasure of seeing Sir Richard Rodney Bennett live in London, and his performance sparked my purchase of this album. He is by far one of the most talented lounge pianists I have heard. His smooth voice and interpretations of these wonderful songs add to provide a wonderful listening experience. A must for any person who appreciates the timeless sound of a classic cocktail pianist.

It is simply splendid! Paul's luminous talent could not be better showcased. Congratulations not only to Paul and Patti (appearing with Paul) but also to the accompanists (and the recording engineer). Paul's voice is, of course, exceptional but we were also struck by his unforced and effective phrasing and timing.

Gone To Texas

A good, but not great blues album. John has a great tonal quality to his guitar and plays a Texas boogie style blues. Guitar playing is great, songs are fun and the backing band is great. So why the three stars? Vocals are a little weak and repetative. John has the same vocal delivery to every song and upon repeated listings the songs start to blur together. Saw him live on 6th St. in Austin and really enjoyed the show. Would recommend for folks that like guitars and\or texas style blues.

When I first heard Metro Stylee on the Girls Go Ska comp. with the song Destroy (the best under 2 minute song, IMHO), I knew I had to get the album! Unfortunatly the version on this album is not the same as the Girls Go Ska, but the album is still great, I just wish it didn't have the pesky shipping delay!
