I saw Debbie Duncan for the first time in a small cozy bar in the twin cities, I had just arrived from Brasil and it was snowing like crazy outside. She was wonderful. Her voice is so powerful, her lyrics so magic that I'll never forget that night ever.
After the show, I went to her and asked where could I find her album, and the next day there I was in a cab going to the cd store.
"I gotta be me" is my favorite song, and she does a great version of "la mer" and "sisters". The whole album is worth 1000 stars.
She should be recording more.

This wasn't what I was seeking. It's nice, but for me it's too westernized. Authentic Balkan music loses a lot of its verve when softened by western european instruments. The album Folksongs of Rumania did suit me though. If you want the haunting Balkan sound "Folksongs..." will fill the bill.

In my personal opinion, this is Nobuo Uematsu's best soundtrack ever. Some may disagree, either for not playing the game, bad sound system or for some other reason, but trust me, this is *awesome* music here. First, you've got the main theme, "Ahead on Our Way", one heck of an upbeat-ish song, and brilliantly composed. After that are many variations of the song scattered throughout the soundtrack: "Lenna's Theme", "The Day Will Come", "Four Valient Hearts", all of which are awesome. As for "The Dragon Spreads Its Wings", now I am truly breathless. The first one sounds really nice, but it's the variation, "The New Origin", that really takes the cake.
