Loving the Alien

Release Date May 18, 1999
These Athens, Georgia bands really did impress my socks off! Loving The Alien kicks off with "It's No Game, Part 3." I was expecting some Japanese women come on and sing off key. Boy, was I wrong! A very good German singer sings the first verse. All in all, all the singers are great and this song is still one of my favorites! "Big Brother" is by far my absolute favorite track off of Loving the Alien! It starts off kind of strange. A man shouts into a microphone that someone is "surrounded." The listener can hear helicopters and all the common sounds of a hostage situation. Then the song kicks in. The instrumentation is perfect along with the singing! I particularly love when they yell at the ... Read More:

The Eraser

Search: Analyse
by: Thom Yorke

Release Date July 11, 2006
This album is one of the best albums I've heard overall lately! When I listen to this record, I often forget its not Radiohead. When Thom Yorke says its definitely just a side project, and not a "solo" album, that's a very valid statement. It does sound more like a side project. Solo albums, at least in my experience, always seem to sound a lot different than the artist's material with the band. This album to me, seems like songs that Thom didn't want to put on a Radiohead album, so he just put them on The Eraser. Since it was technically only him, it automatically receives the label "solo album". Not that it isn't a solo album, it just sounds so much like a Radiohead record to me. As in the other reviews, I warn you, if you don't like electronic music ... Read More:
