Search: All You Ever Wanted

I only gave this more than one star because with George Benson and O.C. Smith involved, it is obviously not entirely Embers music. This is good, because their music is representative of
"Carolina Beach Music", music so awful that outside of the the two Carolinas, Georgia, maybe Virginia, no one knows what it is or could stand to listen for long. While in the majority of the known universe, the term "shag" refers to the sex act, the ironic thing is that "shag" refers to something altogether different in the Bible-Belt extremist conservative southeastern US (and thank God, nowhere else), that being a sped-up swing dance done to mostly really bad local R&B music performed by really talentless groups of the region. That is the garbage you ... Read More:

Finding Our Way

Search: All You Ever Wanted
by: The Mickeys

Release Date May 21, 2003
I was raised on country music, but I can't stand to listen to country radio anymore. The slick, bland production values and Hallmark Card lyrics are tiresome and uninspiring. Fortunately, the Mickeys, with their debut album, establish themselves as the exact opposite of that trend.

Spare instrumentation backs clean, clear vocal harmonies of twin sisters Amy and Julie Mickey, creating an uncluttered, folk-driven soundscape. Strong images like title images in "My Train" and the first single, "Smoke and Mirrors," create a lush poetic tone that more than makes up for the small production budget. Many songs, like "Dixie Wire" and "Old Kentucky Wind," have a tone that would be easily favored by anyone who prefers quality over a mass market ... Read More:
