IdlewildSearch: A Bad Note by: OutKast Release Date August 22, 2006 Outkast is probably one of my most influentual groups to come out of the hometown of ATL. That being said, this album was a slight dissapointment from all other Outkast albums that I've heard. Being based off the movie "Idlewild" I figured this would be a nice album in connection to the movie it was based on. Like a lot of people noticed, this album is like "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below". In fact it's a little too much like it (I'm suprised it wasn't a double disc as well). With Andre 3000 doing more singing, he sounds a little off with his vocals. I understand that he was experimenting with his singing vocals on "The Love Below", but I just wasn't feeling it on "Idlewild". Philly's Super Soul HitsSearch: A Bad Note by: Various Artists Release Date May 21, 2002 My husband and I have a large cd collection and this is for sure one of our top ten favorites. A great list of timeless songs performed by talented muscians and written by Gamble/Huff who in retrospect seemed to be underated at the time these songs were hits. When you hear all of these songs together with the great arrangements and soul it is simply heaven! You can not help but be moved by the music and will feel the soul right down to your toes. |
