The second version of One on here is one of the best new things I have heard in years - voice, acoustic guitar, violin - sounds great. I you ever thought acoustic guitar was boring, this will change your mind.

I saw them live in San Jose area Summer 2007 and they are definitely worth it if they come near you. They did a version of Pink Floyd "Wish you here" that I can't wait to hear without the audience singing.

I listened to the whole album. It's a good album, not exeptional by any means. Where is the "afro"? I certainly didn't hear enough of an afro influence to warrant the inclusion in the groups name. If you like celtic influenced electro pop then this will truly rock your boat. If not...

If you're a fan of Ozomatli and someone who'd never heard of them asked you what genre they are, chances are you wouldn't be able to give him/her an answer (what their very name means is a head-scratcher). But their latest album Don't Mess with the Dragon is filled with great stuff.

"Can't Stop" is an ideal way to open the album because you indeed won't be able to stop playing the disc after that track. From there you'll find standouts like "Here We Go", "When I Close My Eyes" and the necessary tribute-to-your-hometown, "City of Angels". And an Ozomatli album wouldn't be complete without some Latin tunes, so "La Gallina" and "Violeta" are good examples of that.

Who says there's no new, amazing music out there? Classic Celtic folk music combined with Salsa, bred from the group's time spent with the sizzling Latin Carribe masters of Cuba ...go figure. Its off the well beaten path but full of energy and enough surprises to keep you moving to it's infectious beat while grabbing your senses with the unexpected. I bought this CD while at a yoga retreat. I sampled the music quickly and bought it almost on impulse. Now it is 6 months later and I continue to listen to it almost every day (one reviewer wrote how his wife listens to it every day and I wonder if that's not my husband using a psudonym..?) Truly, this cd is nothing short of a precious gem in my otherwise very Anglo Saxon music collection. He is featured on many collaboration/collection cds, but I think I'll wait for his next solo release. PLEASE let there me another solo release!

First noticed them on XM 27 Cinemagic, so it was with tremendous excitement I put on this CD. Not disappointed! It's not going to be everybody's cup of tea, but 1) these guys can write it and 2) these guys can play it. This global hybrid approach is not only trendy, it's probably a permanent state of affairs, and these guys are truly GREAT at what they do. Loved it from start to finish.

I find this music so refreshing because it's unlike anything else I've ever heard. I can't get it out of my head it's so addictive. If you like rock, Spanish guitar, or just good music, you'll appreciate the talent this duo brings to the table. Their other album is excellent as well.

Deep Forest's "Essence of the Forest" is a very good retrospective of the material that Deep Forest has released from their 1992 self-titled debut to their 2002 album "Music Detected". Spanning 15 tracks, "Essence" is a very well-assembled collection for those who are seeking a strong introduction to Deep Forest's music. Veteran fans who already have their studio albums may not find much new material on here save for newer versions of the songs that were on their first album. For some reason, I wonder why they decided to re-do the original tracks. Did they hate the originals? Kirtan: The Art and Practice of Ecstatic Chant

I'm very new to Kirtan. But I stumbled onto this CD here at Amazon and just fell in love instantly with Jai's soft, tender voice.
I don't even understand any of the words or know why they are sung...but I DO know is I felt instantly wrapped in a silky, fluffy cloud of serenity, joy, and sweet mesmerizing serenity.

My favorite is Shri Krishna Govinda. It is a soothing lullaby-like song and really transports the listener to a relaxed, blissful state. Especially the last minute of it.

Beautiful, mind-expanding album!
