This really isn't a music soundtrack it is the dialogue from the best scenes in the movie... It includes Colonel Kurtz whispering "The horror... .............. the horror....." (trail end of last track), reciting The Hollow Men by T.S. Eliot, or the dialogue including "... you're an errand boy ...sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill." For true ( possibly obsessive) fans of the movie or Brando this is a must.

I used to really enjoy enigma until they stole the voices of the Kuo Couple of the Ami tribe in Taiwan. The success of the single Return to Innocence is completely due to these vocals not to enigma's own "originality" and it sickens me that they tried to take credit for this beautiful work. And yes I am Taiwanese so I was and am still angered by this lack of respect towards other cultures. This shows their ignorance and disregard to other cultures since they tried to pass the vocals off as "native american." To me, this sounds like theyre saying "All natives are alike so why does it matter whether or not we credit the right ones."

Interested in Deep Forest? World "electronica" mixed with passion, humor, and fantastic musicianship? You CANNOT GO WRONG with this CD. I keep buying copies to give away as gifts, and always have a couple spare.

For a live performance, the quality of the sound is really great, and I disagree with negative reviews, including the most popular one on here. The studio albums do not have the energy, soul, or beauty of these performances. As just ONE example, "Baba" from Boheme: I can hardly listen to it; the singers sound drunk or about to croak, and the "electronic effects" make the chorus sound like they are down in different wells. The Made in Japan version of this song is so different....and so wonderful.

I bought this album (along with "Tahiti Kaina Party", see my review) for a luau we hosted in our backyard. Although this album does have terrific upbeat songs with vocals, I bought it mainly for the songs (half of them) that were strictly percussion. The drums are strong and intense - we and our guests loved it! We played these percussion songs along with the more traditional ukulele and string guitar island-type music for a perfect blend of luau sounds.

This CD, perhaps more than any other, takes me away to another place. Some of the songs paint a vivid picture of a caravan of camels in my mind. The title track is incredibly soulful with a sad, longing quality. If that track does not evoke emotions in you, something has died inside of you. I highly recommend this CD.

I found this album in a small record shop off the Avenida Paulista in Sao Paulo in 2003, while looking for quiet bossa guitar classics. The sound quality is amazing, each chord plucked clean ans the timbre full and rich. Each song has its distinct flavor, yet the songs segue smoothly into each other. Baden Powell is a true guitar genius. The music has never failed to calm, soothe and put us in a tranquil, relaxed mood especially after a rough day, the same way Kind of Blue does. When Ezra gave birth to our baby Jakob we put this on in the labor and delivery room, and the hospital staff all mentioned how great it was and asked for the artist and album information, intending to get their copies, from the doctor, anesthesiologist, to the nurses!
