The "Pac-ker", as I like to call him was so awsome! I loved when he played a cop w/Jim Belushi too! Anyway, his hip-hoppin stylings were a little too urban at times for me, but I loved his moxie for recording tons of stuff that could later be sold to the faithfull. Viva-America, Viva Capitalism!

Boyz N The Hood: Music From The Motion Picture

Much like New Jack City and Higher Learning, Boyz N The Hood was ahead of its time. I say this about both the film and the soundtrack.

The soundtrack, of course, had your share of rap by Ice Cube (How To Survive In South Central), Main Source (Friendly Game Of Baseball), Monie Love (Work It Out) and 2 Live Crew (Hanging Out). It also had some beautiful instrumentals from Stanley Clarke and Quincy Jones. It had an R & B classic from Tony, Toni, Tone with "Just Me And You" and an underrated song called "Spirit" with a very on-point message.

Others have come along that have tried to duplicate this and the other two films/soundtracks I've named (think Poetic Justice, Menace II Society and Baby Boy) but only a few have even ... Read More:

Ozomatli, how could you go wrong? Tasty latin, world, jazz, hip hop, salsa. How many bands can play that many styles? Ozomatli can.

Ozomatli show how you should do a 9 piece band. Please, let's not even mention Slipknot. This band actually uses each band member, you know, instead of Slipknot, who sound like they use one of their guitarist, corey, and the drums pretty much the whole time (come on, you have a sampler, a dj, two percussionists, two guitarists, a bassist, a drummer, you idiots. USE THEM!!!). It's really some interesting stuff to listen to. Though the songwriting sometimes seems to falter. I don't know, but it sometimes seems to be a bit okay, not merely awesome, either great or good.

A very cool album. Lots of great variety, lyrics and sounds. I've listened to it many times and I still haven't got tired of it. One of those albums where the variety of songs keeps things interesting and keeps you pushing that play button again and again. Great recording sound for your hi-fi.
Excellent album. Higly recommended.

I enjoyed this CD very much. The Music is great, if you're interested in hearing real musical insturment on a record, this is it.
You have a bit of french, english,spanish,a bit of samba, this is musical range at its best. The leader singer China Forbes voice is refreshing,and soothing.

This albums bangs from the beginning to the end with party jams and slow jams, an added bonus that he even raps on some of the tracks, I love songs on here like "It's Over", "Down On My Knees", "Don't Keep Me Waiting", "Back In LA", and of course the classic title track, Montell Jordan is a music genious, pick up this album right now if you don't have already!!!

Tupac is definantly in the top five rappers of all time, but when I was going through my CD's, I realized I didn't have any, so I went to Amazon a couple of weeks later to get 2Pacalypse Now, but ut was kind of expensive, so I got the soundtrack to Resurrection. I wasn't really expecting much since it was cheap, but it was honestly really good. I liked all the songs, not one is even slightly stupid. R.I.P Tupac
