That song "So Many Rappers In Love" was the reason I bought this CD. In that song they're talking about the sickening love songs you pretty much ONLY hear on the radio now adays.

Other good songs are Call 911, Izm, and Gangsta Nation.

Sir Mix-A-Lot's 1992 album was a strong achievement for both music with an attitude and also the ability to pull rap style away from street grunt cop killing fanaticism and back into the front yard of fun. Lot's own biggest hit off this very record was "Baby got back" and who would have thought a song about that would have become such a cult classic. SMAL has the energy and wordsmith talent to hang with the best of them and this album is still a pinnacle in his career.

I know this album is old, but I was jamming to it in my car the other day and had to write a review. When this album first came out in '99 I really thought Sole would be the new woman to represent females in Hip Hop. It's been 6 years, and with the exception of hearing about her getting married to Genuine she has vanished from the public eye. Her debut album Skin Deep is not to be slept on. She is tough, but her femininity still shines through. She has her own sound, and did not see the need to try to sound like anyone else. I remember when I first heard her on JT Money's track Who Dat (which is on her album as well) I was impressed by her voice. She also did not let her beauty hinder her tough edge one bit. truth be told His best stuff was on the Carnival Album&that is where His Main Hits came from Post Fugees era."Gone to November" was tight Original&the Re-Mix with R.Kelly is tight.but after His First Solo Set He went down."Ghetto Religion" is a cool cut He did with R.Kelly.still a bit pre-mature for a Greatest Hits on Him though.
