I bought this CD based on the reviews and it was everything everyone said it was. I have older children that are in college and want the CD because when they listen to it with their brother, it's so relaxing. If you want gentle background music to lull your child to sleep, this is it. If you want to destress with soothing music, this is it. Excellent.

Prior to this album, Diana Krall was not considered serious enough as a Jazz singer who could play a mean piano roll. She was a pretty girl, with a pretty voice, who would do standard jazz covers.

But this album changed all that, the trio in this record is brilliant and Diana's talent as a vocalist AND a piano player is showcased here in great abundance. It was good for her to choose a tribute album to Nat King Cole, and it results in a very good record and nice interpretations of Nat Cole's classics. It was difficult without a drummer as well

I don't have a large collection (50 to 60 CDs ), but this is one cd that i listened to so many items, i scratched it till it could not be played anymore.

With all due respect to the people involved with the production of this 2000 Sony release (Didier C. Deutsch, Darcy M. Proper, Danny Bennett and Steve Berkowitz), not to mention Tony himself, it's really quite impossible to come with a definitive single 20-track CD "ultimate" compilation for a man who racked up some 67 hit singles from his first in 1951 (Because Of You - # 1 for TEN weeks that summer) to his last in 1976 (As Time Goes By - # 28 Adult Contemporary early that spring). Never mind his many albums.

My brother recommended this chick. He lives in Germany and he and his girlfriend think she's just awesome. I went to amazon assuming I could hear a few tracks before I bought. No such luck. Not sure why they do that for some, but not others. SO I took my brother at his word and gave this one a try. I guess maybe I am just too old for baby-voiced singers, but I just do not see the fascination. I kept wanting her to clear her throat and BELT out a little something. Her song choices are very *young* as well, the lyrics are not very sophistocated.

The reason I gave this 3 CD Set 4 stars instead of 5? These recordings
were made before 'Stereo' came along. But, the engineers did a great job
of transfering (Re-mastering?) the songs to CD, and they sound very good.
Seventy-five classics by the greatest crooner of the 20th century.
Interested in 'Sinatra in Stereo'? You might also buy "The Reprise
Collection"-- it's ALL in stereo. Buy both-- you'll be glad you did.
