I loved half the songs -- Trinkle, Trinkle, Ruby My Dear, Nutty -- and disliked the rest. I don' dig discordant jazz, man, I dig beebop! This is a mono live recording so adjust your speakers accordingly. 5.1 sounds like crud.

Own but only two CDs by this great jazz artist and will, no doubt, buy more.

Have played this record, and Dippin', a few times by now--and each time I play either record it's like hearing it for the very first time--and that's the highest compliment I can give to any recording and/or musician.

Further evidence that jazz (just might be) the greatest of the arts ever invented by humans. And that's a tough admission for me, as I have always been a lover of good writing and fine art.

This, like "Jook Joint", is a five star, all out aural attack from Q's wide range of superstar friends. From the opening raps to the soaring heights of 'The Places You Find Love' to the smooth slow jam finish, this album is a must for anyone who appreciates perfection of song and soulful delivery.
Honestly, you can't go wrong with this.

With instrumental flashes of the Zap Band and a voice akin to Barry White's (though higher-pitched), Trible and friends produce dynamic tracks that will challenge assumptions. Hippy and hipster sets will accept this record immediately, but it might take the hardcore hip-hoppers a little longer. They, like all people, need to take Trible's message to heart: "It's all about love, peace, unity and havin' fun." Perhaps that's why the trio included the second disc of instrumentals; to draw in rappers thirsting for innovative beats who might not have picked it up otherwise.

A I Got No Kick Against Modern Jazz

I don't think they set out to set the world on fire. Even the title suggests as much. That being said, they took liberties with some well-known songs and made it work. My favorite tracks? All of them. I bought this CD because of McCoy Tyner, for my money the best pianist around today. But the others were remarkable as well. Would I recommend this CD? Absolutely. Remember, this is not Coltrane doing "My favorite things." This is a group of stars who got together to have some fun. And have fun they did. I didn't give it five stars because there are no classics here. Just good music.
