always been a Big fan of Cameo and there Brand of Funk. this was the Album that finally took them over and brought in a whole new Audience. but they stayed on the Groove. the title cut was the cut that kept them respected and tight with the fast charging Hip-Hop crowd that was making there pressence felt through support of a whole new croup of Rap Acts emerging. this cut got folk's attention big time. Cameo was one of the few Acts from the world of R&B that kept the Bass thumping in there Music despite all the Cleanness that was being accepted for R&B during that time. I own three copies of this album (so, obviously I think a lot of it): Two LPs (an original pressing and a later pressing) and the CD. Thelma Houston and a crack group of musicians/vocalists give you the experience of a live performance in your own listening room, courtesy of their direct-to-disk recording approach. I love the music, the obvious energy and the astonishing transparency of the vocals. For the audiophiles out there: As good as the CD is, the vinyl sounds that much better and is worth every penny if you have a top-notch LP system.

Joni Mitchell's "Shine," Richard Buckner's "Meadow" and Brandi Carlile's "The Story" were all masterpieces, but Robin Thicke's "Evolution of Robin Thicke" came out of nowhere and conquered my CD player for a good part of 2007. Urban dance music for lovers. Recommended! And come to think of it, the Robert Plant/Alison Krauss collaboration "Raising Sand" was also great.

I recently rediscovered this cd that I purchased in 1997/1998 as soon as I heard " Come Over..." and it sounds so GOOD ... I will always KEEP her first cd--even if it is on my i-pod, what a talent this young lady is! She has new music and that is why I sought her out to see if it was for sale here. I will definitely buy her new music-TODAY. There are some singers ( like Chrisette Michelle, Joss, Sharon Jones and many UNKNOWN I just hope that they've started a renaissance of GOOD music--Seek them out, they won't be on your AVERAGE radio station as we SEE.

Yes this album is a little different from what brought N.E.R.D. crashing into the hip hop scene. But with talent and creativity of the Neptunes steering the wheel behind this project, you know you won't hear the same sound twice. This is a great album and creative reaproach their sound. Give it a chance and an open mind and you just might like it.

Who's the hottest singer in Philly, Musiq, Jill Scott, or Bilal? None of those just mentioned. V is a brotha who's cd is nothing more than pure bliss. Tight production and velvety smooth lyrics make this cd a sleeping giant. Unfortunately many people will never hear this bro sing unless they stop depending on commercial radio for recommendations. This is a true diamond in the ruff find. Check it out.
