I have never heard "No Ordinary Love" played with such overwhelming charm. All tracks are wonderful, but "LA BELLE DAME SANS REGRETS" is my favorite, Sting's voice along with Chris Botti's playing was enchanting.

An artist like Botti doesn't need pictures of a beautiful woman with a fake mesmerized look on the cover of his album, but with an outstanding performance like that, some shallowness should be forgiven.

John's vocals are not overpowering, as this is not his style. Yet, they are straight forward and at times vibrant, compelling, and original. This CD represents John at his very best and most original.
The arrangements are tasteful and the musicians terrific, as they allow
the beauty of known and less known Richard Rodgers songs to shine throughout the recording. A joyful experience....go out and buy it!

As a PHANATIC, this double box set is a must-have. I must say that the box is cute, it has the complete libretto (with ALL dialogues)... all inside a little cute box.

I used to have a 80' double K7 set, given by my aunt when she saw the Phantom for the first time back in 90'. The main difference is that those K7 had the COMPLETE DIALOGUES, with NO cuts. And these CDs do not have little dialogues... but it still worths buying.

I got this for my mom's birthday because she likes Diana Krall. Well I ended up liking it more than her! I played this disc several times because her voice is so soothing and relaxing. it is truly a gift! If you like artists like Norah Jones or Michael Buble then you'll enjoy this jazz album! I dont have any favorite songs on it, I think they're all good!

I am personally not one to give 1 star reviews, but this really deserves it. I am pretty picky about the Broadways I listen to, and this just didn't make the cut. Firs of all, it's amazing that on amazon it says to buy it together with The Phantom of the Opera, just don't. Buy the Phantom and skip this. I must admit that when I first put it into my car's cd player I was pretty much stunned. It started with booming bad keyboard music and some guy singing almost a slavery sort song. I hoped the next track would get better and it didn't. I'm not saying the singers can't sing, but not all of them were that good. The music itself was bad, the keyboards killed it for me. When I discussed the Ric Burns documentary about the old West with an Amerindian acquaintance, I complained that the film concentrated on the Lakota, to the exclusion of other peoples. My friend answered that, as the Lakota was the best known native American culture, that was a good place to start, and the audience would then move on to learn about other parts of the story.

I suppose the same is true of the documentary by Ric's brother Ken Burns, on the history of Jazz, on which this box set is based. It is heavy on Louis Armstrong and on the Big Band sound of the Swing era - probably the Jazz best known to the general public - but light in other areas, including the many, varied strands of Jazz in the last 30 years or so.
