As a die hard heavy metal fan it shocks most people and even my friends that I am a devoted fan of RT. I have worked at record stores since Rumor & Sigh came out and it wasn't until this release that I paid him attention again and realized what a great songwriter, guitarist and all around good storyteller that has eluded mainstrea success. I enjoy this album and "the Old Kit Bag" as my personal fave cd's from RT besides Rumor. If you are a fan of good music then check this guy out!

This album is, in my opinion, one of the top 10 definitive masterpieces of the hippie era. Along with 'Earthspan' of the ISB, it represents the best of the English folk-rock genre. If you are 45-55 years old and don't have this album, do yourself a favour and buy it immediately.

I enjoy seasonal music. I love the fact that Music Choice on my cable system has a 'Seasonal Music' channel, because I think that music written for a specific time of year can help people to enjoy the holiday more.
Of course, when you're thinking about enjoying St. Patrick's Day more, people usually think about drinking a lot of green beer. And if you're one of those people, this is the CD compilation for you.
This CD has a lot more contemporary artists than the last Irish CD I reviewed: The Dropkick Murphys and The Pogues stand out in particular. The Clancy Brothers and The Dubliners are also welcome additions to the CD.
There are still the old standbys - Frank Patterson sings the requisite "Danny Boy," The Dubliners contribute ... Read More:

Well, it used to be when you went to an airport there would be natural flower children, with flower print dresses, with (of all things) flowers to hand out to weary passer-bys. Their buttons revealed their true thoughts: "Make Love, Not War", "Groovey!", "Don't Trust Anyone Over 30!" How foolish to think anything like this could survive into the modern day a go-go world we all know and love. (!)
These days we have persons of a different ilk. You know the ones. They have many piercings, are very loud (urgent that they be heard!) and walk around with placards that read "Save Britney!" or "Free Paris!". As if I didn't have anything better to concentrate on - like freeing and saving myself. Ah! The price we pay for progress folks!

No "One hit wonders" these.
Flook has crafted a fine mix of delicious tunes.
How to describe it...
Like stumbling upon a summer's eve party in full swing. Lively, lush, complex and inviting. Since I've had this CD I've been drawn back to it again and again.
Release Date June 19, 2001
Tree by Gaelic Storm is an amazing album with such vivid sounds. The use of celtic instruments with a touch of American modernism brings this album to its full potential in a new age of sounds and harmony. With such tracks as "Swimmin' In The Sea" and "Johnny Tarr" the band shows its ability to play songs that make the listener feel good. This album makes you wish you were Irish. With the addition of a female voice, the sounds call even more to the listener. "Mary's Eyes" reveals the celtic sentiment and "Black Is the Colour" boasts of romantic appeal. These tracks are a great example of the talent and diverse sounds that make up Gaelic Storm.

Patrick Ball's music is by far my favourite harp music. Enchanting, joyous, moving, lilting, pretty it pulls at the heart strings. I grew up with some of these tapes in my father's possession and they were a great delight to listen to. These truly beautiful melodies from Ireland will sweep you up in their presence.
Release Date February 03, 1998
This is a fabulous CD. My favorite song on it is Jug of Punch, I have such great memories of listening to them sing it back in the 60's. It was great to rediscover them recently when I found this CD of songs I heard on old LP records! (Holy cow -- remember RECORDS??)
The best part is listening without the crackeling sound of records that you've played hundreds of times!
If you like the Clancy Brothers, you'll love this CD.

This is the first CD of Hollie that I bought. By the 2nd time I listened to this CD I was hooked. Hope she comes out with more soon.
