Well, it used to be when you went to an airport there would be natural flower children, with flower print dresses, with (of all things) flowers to hand out to weary passer-bys. Their buttons revealed their true thoughts: "Make Love, Not War", "Groovey!", "Don't Trust Anyone Over 30!" How foolish to think anything like this could survive into the modern day a go-go world we all know and love. (!)

These days we have persons of a different ilk. You know the ones. They have many piercings, are very loud (urgent that they be heard!) and walk around with placards that read "Save Britney!" or "Free Paris!". Jackson's work is as storied as his face. So if his visage is even remotely intriguing, I urge you to add this to your cart.

It's incredible the beautiful and heartbreaking things a man can produce against tremendous, seemingly insurmountable odds. But don't fret; this is no Lifetime movie. This is a bare nerve. This is a removal of stitches just to show you the depth of the wound. In much the same way Van Morrison's Astral Weeks and Veedon Fleece illustrate a place we have all encountered, Jackson C Frank's discography returns us to a place we didn't know anyone else had visited.

Naked and intense. But also highly recommended.

I enjoy seasonal music. I love the fact that Music Choice on my cable system has a 'Seasonal Music' channel, because I think that music written for a specific time of year can help people to enjoy the holiday more.

Of course, when you're thinking about enjoying St. Patrick's Day more, people usually think about drinking a lot of green beer. And if you're one of those people, this is the CD compilation for you.

This CD has a lot more contemporary artists than the last Irish CD I reviewed: The Dropkick Murphys and The Pogues stand out in particular. The Clancy Brothers and The Dubliners are also welcome additions to the CD.

Lindisfarne's greatest hit and more popular than the charming, folksy subtleties of Nicely Out of Tune, this album has much to commend it.

As the first album captured the return to the roots to traditional music in the heydey of psychedelica, so this, the second album is atune with the times as young people resumed their long term relationship with alcohol. This album for Lindisfarne is their equivalent of the second Grateful Dead live album, derided by New Musical Express as the boogie Dead. Well this is the drinker's album and I say that not in a derogatory way.
