There are some really good songs on this album, but they need to mix-up up their style and experiment a bit more with their sound. The songs do tend to sound a bit the same, but I have a feeling In this Moment's next album will be alot better after they have gain more experience and done a great deal of touring.
Release Date July 27, 2004
I have only vague memories of this disc's original mix, but this new mix seems to layer the vocals for richer texture and bring out certain guitar elements a little better. Remixed, the disc remains one to be listened to over and over, playing air guitar and (trying anyway) to growl and wail along with Dave Mustaine's vocals. The first three songs make a compelling set together; if you're listening in your car and reach your destination before these songs finish, you're going to want to sit there, parked, listening until they're done.
The disc's low point is Family Tree. It's a competent song, but it tries a little too hard and falls short of the rest of the disc.

I've been a Megadeth fan since Peace Sells, so I consider myself pretty familiar with their catalog. That said, this album was really refreshing. Ever since "Rust In Peace", far and away their best, the quality of their output has steadily declined, reaching a nadir with the utterly horrid "Risk".
This album is a return to the sound on "Rust in Peace". The songs are longer and more complex, and there's a decided progressive bent. Also, and not to overstate this aspect, but unlike "Rust in Peace", there's a strong Zeppelin influence on this record in parts.
The musicianship, as usual, is stellar. Chris Poland (guitar) demonstrates that he can still shred with the best guitarists today. Mustaine's voice - never a strong ... Read More:

this is the cd that most people noticed sepultura as a certified thrash band with they reminded me of slayer hellawaits a bit with this cd but they had alot more to offer.I wish they could realy clean up the recording it has alot of hiss and extra noise on it.but simply a must have for thrash fans.

I liked their old stuff cause i do like metalcore but of course the other heavy stuff too that makes trash metal look like children in tights that can't play guitar, playing guitar hero hahahahahahaha.Hell, makes them look like barney stuff also.I know alot of trash metallers are mad right know reading this. And by former fan i mean really a former fan cause i don't even listen to their old stuff anymore,Matt heafy is just a little suburb boy with tights who "thinks" he's metal and i don't care if you say he can play im not into that kind of boring stuff.Trash metal sucks, trash metal is for posers yeah it's true all you"nu metallers" that's why it called trash cause IT'S TRASH! p.s don't comment i won't read this HAHAHAHAHA

There is a significant difference between this (their first album) and the subsequent release: "Shadows Are Security." Overall, FWC is ok, for a start. (You have to cut them a little bit of a break since this was their first album). The only people who give this 5 stars are probably already raving AILD fans. Yes, there are a couple cool tracks but not enough to carry the album.
If you're new to the band (or new to Metalcore), don't start with this record. "Shadows Are Security" and "An Ocean Between Us" are both MUCH better.
Not recommended (unless you're already an AILD fan).

at a time when metallica, slayer, megadeth, anthrax where starting their climb to kings of thrash the most underrated/misstimed release was playing and had a lp full of tunes before metallica was a band/and stoled kirk from exodus.these guys had it together but bad luck/timing.the guitars are crisper than alot of first cd in that era and the drums are insane dave lambardo sounds beat till reign in blood.these guy stood the test of time well never reaching the sucess that they should have but never giving up their chops.they finally got some bigger breaks around the second coming of thrash (testament,heathen,forbidden,vio-lence&death angle)whick they seamed to rise above that class of thrash but could never make the first class status, but they could show you what thrash was ... Maybe not the best Motorhead disc ever released, but still worth owning a copy of.Surprisingly enough,on the CD's ballad,"One More F**king Time",Lemmy can actually carry out the feat rather well.Other decent tracks include "Stay Out Of Jail",the Sex Pistol's cover "God Save The Queen","Wake The Dead" and the title cut "We Are Motorhead" which pretty much says it all.Good to take off the rack from time to time for a spin in your CD player.

I've had this album in one form or another since it came out in the 80's, so I've had plenty of time to listen to it, and I've come to this conclusion:
This is one of Megadeth's angriest and fastest albums, if Pantera defines heavy metal agression, Megadeth defines the heavy metal tantrum. The riffs are complex, the beats are fast, and the songs are hard and angry. Make no mistake though - this is a very technical group of songs played well by virtuoso musicians.
The writing isn't quite up to par with later work on "Rust in Peace" and "Symphony of Destruction" - there are no single songs that blow me away. All of the songs follow a similar pattern of building up from a slow intro more often then not into a thrash metal grind-fest. For that reason ... Read More:
