Black Metal is to a record collection what a good multi-vitamin is to a healthy daily regimen. It balances a record collection. Another analogy is that, regardless of how committed you may be to metal in general, you need to own Black Metal for the same reason they made you read Shakespeare in college. Everyone needs the exposure for a better perspective on the features of rock and roll culture.

I was psyched after God Hates Us All.
I'm sorry but this seems like a step backwards.
Yes Lombardo is back. But this disc has it's share of junkers on it.
It sounds more like the old stuff but who cares. The old stuff is better.
I'm really torn with this one. As a twenty year + Slayer vet. I really wanted to love this one. The excessive swearing worked really well on God Hates Us All. But now, it's just redundant.
I was looking for a masterpiece and this is not it. Not a bad album by any means. It has excellent moments or I wouldn't have given it four stars.
The one thing I liked was the last song. Blast beats!!! Finally!

No doubt about it, B-Head is always going to do whatever his inner desire drives him to do, and we must bask in its glory. As with most fans, I appreciate all he does, but like different works in varying degrees. This means people who tend to like his acoustic-based material will probably think this disc is only good for playing when you want guests who've over-stayed their welcome to leave. I was intrigued by a review that suggested "death metal guitar" sounds, and to be sure the sound is REALLY HEAVY. But there's the added dimension of Bucky's energetic and frenetic musicianship that owns this disc. I heard the Nativity in Black part 2 , and except for Slayer , Megadeth , Pantera & Primus which are the best covers on this edition ,the rest of the tracklist (well System of a Down & Busta Rhymes renditions are ok)didn't do much. I prefer the first edition instead.

the first set is a early show of exodus at dynamo good live set with unrecorded songs for the kirk hammet era of exodus.yes thrash before metallica.great set nothing special just a good set.part two is my favorite the old classic song 12 years latter with most of the original band still thrashin the old school song at dynamo again but now with better sound and gear.well worth the money 85-97 is a great find and excellent buy.

Like some others have said, D.R.I. immediately came to mind when I first heard this. I got this CD free somehow, and I finally got around to listening to it. I'm glad I did! I'm about to order the rest of their catalogue. Great CD!

not bad the music cds are good for live stuff. my version has the vhs tapes for video i couldnt find the dvd version cheap enough for my tastes. but the videos are pretty good too.

i'm a motorhead fan but i'm not overly impressed with this debut album. to me the sound isn't that great and lemmy is just starting to work on his growl. my favorite motorhead album is hammered but i discovered the bands years ago with ace of spades. there are a few good songs...iron horse being my favorite off this album...but i find the entire album to be lacking.
