The concert is well recorded and well filmed. You can see how skilled they are as musicians - the guitars aren't just brutal, but they are intricate and interweaving. Howard is just an amazing vocalist with huge stage presence. The documentary is a huge bonus, not just talking about the development of the band, but also demonstrating their camaraderie and solidarity with other similar bands (many of which you may find yourself wanting to hear). A must for metalcore fans.

If you didn't read my review for their other cd, I bought this one at the same time as Scream, Aim, Fire, based off of the title track single. The rest of that cd was disappointing. Each track dropped a little more to the emo sound. I heard that this one could not compare in aggressiveness to the newer one. Although it is not as heavy as the title track, this one is more consistent and heavier then the end of SAF. Both are listenable but I was expecting heavier.

The 1990s saw a real resurgence of Motorhead. After Eddie Clarke quit in 1982, the band seemed to struggle for the rest of the 80s. No release was really "bad", but Another Perfect Day was a largely failed experiment, and Orgasmatron and Rock n Roll were warm ups runs (albeit good ones). With 1991's "1916" album however the band definitely found a sound to equal, even exceed the original Lemmy/ Clarke/ Taylor souund.
1995's Sacrifice is in my opinion the highest point of the post Clarke era. It's probably their most consistent album of the 90s. There are probably some songs on other albums that I like better, but as a whole, I find that this is an album where I seldom skip anything.
It's also notable for being probably ... Read More:

Two destructive albums in a row?
Yup!
It's a toss up which is better, this one or Years.
Horror is a tad heavier, and the new lead players smoke.
Blitz is good.
DD is his usual virtouso perfectionist.
Great drums. Great everything. A mega killer title track.
A must have, go buy!!!

this is the cd that most people noticed sepultura as a certified thrash band with they reminded me of slayer hellawaits a bit with this cd but they had alot more to offer.I wish they could realy clean up the recording it has alot of hiss and extra noise on it.but simply a must have for thrash fans.

I've Had all the testament albums and this is the best. These guys were a thrash band in the Eighties. The best one in my opinion. Then in the nineties they went through a stint of pure death metal(demonic, low).
then in 99'.they took the elements of the thrash combined with their death style and put out the gathering without skolnick(og) but peterson writes most the material anyway i believe. there is no way they could have improved on this album. style, production, art, direction. top 5 best metal albums ever and I listen to a bit of metal.

I don't write artistic music reviews. Let me just say that I have listened to this album almost every day since it was released, and I am still far from bored or sick of listening to it. I have not listened to much of my other music this year, Bedlam seems to have sucked the life out of it all. I hope the Volta unleashes more brutal assaults on us soon. I hear the next album will be mellow/acoustic.

First, the production was pretty bad (as it was on most early Testament albums, but this was thhe worst), meaning it's hard to feel the energy of the songs.
Second, this was their first album that was not solid from start to finish. You could play The Legacy, The New Order, or Practice What You Preach from start to finish and there was not a weak song or filler on the album, where Souls of Black is plagued by fillers.
Souls of Black, Face In The Sky and The Legacy are all top-notch songs from the band worthy of their first three albums. The problem is the rest of the album isn't as memoriable.

I liked their old stuff cause i do like metalcore but of course the other heavy stuff too that makes trash metal look like children in tights that can't play guitar, playing guitar hero hahahahahahaha.Hell, makes them look like barney stuff also.I know alot of trash metallers are mad right know reading this. And by former fan i mean really a former fan cause i don't even listen to their old stuff anymore,Matt heafy is just a little suburb boy with tights who "thinks" he's metal and i don't care if you say he can play im not into that kind of boring stuff.Trash metal sucks, trash metal is for posers yeah it's true all you"nu metallers" that's why it called trash cause IT'S TRASH! p.s don't comment i won't read this HAHAHAHAHA

This album is SOOOOOO much better than their last album. Absent are the silly childish lyrics, silly childish cover and silly childish song titles. This is a mature effort and they won this one in spades. It's like the band grew up over night. A must have for hardcore fans. Breakdowns everywhere.
