The music genre listed for Blake's CD is Teen Rock. I disagree. With everything that Blake does musically, he pushes the envelope blending jazz, rock, electronic, house and many other musical styles. Your average Teeny Bopper can't really appreciate the levels of sophistication that Blake delivers in his music.
His record label is making a serious mistake marketing him in the same bucket as that Hannah Montana flavor of the day.
The only weakness in his work is where he borrows a little to closely from the melody lines of a song called "Putting On The Ritz". I don't think that proper credit was given to the original composer. If he chose a more obscure song; it might not be as much as an issue. But "Putting On The ... Read More:

great songs from start to finish, but...this disc is EXTREMELY LOUD...mastered using limiting, and designed for Ipods and car stereos...do not play in your bedroom, unless your having a Party, it will rattles your skull

I grew up on the Partridge Family (way better than the Brady Bunch) and while I loved the show, it was the music that made the Partridge Family such a hit. Obviously, the Partridge Family is David Cassidy since none of the other case members (except for Shirley Jones on the show) actually sang. That's why I'm surprised to find "Let the Good Times in" and "Together (Havin' A Ball)" on this CD since David Cassidy doesn't sing on either of these 2 songs.
But nonetheless, this is a great collection for Partridge Family fans. With the possible exception of "Stephanie," all of the songs are great examples of sweet lyrics, great vocals (those amazing harmonies), and good time, finger-snapping, toe-tapping music. "Come on Get Happy" (the show's theme ... Read More:

There are songs on this CD which I don't remember ever hearing before. A new favorite is "Yours Until Tomorrow," written by Carole King/Gerry Goffin. I so regret not being able to see Gene Pitney in a live performance before he died several years ago. What a fantastic voice he had. This CD is quite wonderful, and has 25 tracks on it - a long one!

The movie and songs are fun, but apparently Amazon doesn't fact check their editorial reviews. "Strange Magic" is not an original composition by Darren Hayes - it's an E.L.O. (Electric Light Orchestra) hit from the 70's written by Jeff Lynne. The original is much better than the cover, but the cover is still enjoyable within the context of the movie.

A Walk to remember was such a great movie and most of all the songs in the movie are on the cd. The new radicals song is great and the switchfoot songs love them so much. I definitely recommend this, buy the movie as well if you haven't already.

A search in Music under the heading Ultimate Collection will garner you over 2,000 hits, ranging from Benny Hill and George Formby to 10cc and The Who, and just about everyone in between. Even Motown uses Ultimate Collection on a number of their CDs, but the best of the lot where they are concerned is the series with similar cover art by David Irvin and involving Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Four Tops, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Marvelettes, Martha (Reeves) & The Vandellas, Jr. Walker & The All Stars, Gladys Knight & The Pips, and Mary Wells. Each has a comprehensive series of background notes and discographies of the contents and usually 25 tracks.
This one, also from Motown, is not part of that series, but it's still ... Read More:

The Cheetah Girls just seem to be getting better and better.
Their voices sound much stronger, and they each compliment each other in every song.
I love how they incorporated Latin beats in both the movie and soundtrack. I enjoy every song on this track, the lyrics are positive, and it sends out great messages of friendship.
I feel they should have included Raven in the Barcelona Mix of "Cheetah Sisters". Adding Belinda to the songs was also a nice twist to the Cheetah Songs.
Once you buy this for your kids (or yourself!) You won't wanna stop listening. Great buy.
