This is well produced bubble gum music for young girls and it is does its job. The harmonies are good, the melodies catchy, and the lyrics-pretty harmless. I have lots of young students who really enjoy this album.

I stopped listening to R&B/New Jack swing back in the mid 90's. I had every band in the genre you could imagine. New Edition (and all solo projects), Hi Five, Silk, Guy, All 4 one, Color me Badd, Guys next door, After 7, ect.... Once this music changed into being less focused on the harmonies and melodies and more on rapping and booty videos , I gave it all up and moved on. In the past 14 years or so I haven't bought more than maybe 3 or 4 cds in this genre. When I heard that NKOTB (Face the Music is still IMO the best thing they have ever done!!) had a new CD coming out I was pumped to hear what it sounded like. bought this cd for my daughters expecting to hate it. these boys are super talented and mature beyond their years. also, what a refreshing change for my 13 yr old to this rather than all the stripper and party based hits of the current pop & hip hop charts. plus, bonus edition has cool extras. great price on amazon too!

What we have here, ladies and gentlemen, is the latest dropping from the gigantic byzantine money-making machine called the music industry. Forget the cute little girl's face on the cover, or that she, in some sense at least, sang the songs. She really has nothing to do with it. Its about seperating you from your money. Its product. This is the same recording industry that robbed every classic blues, soul, and R&B singer, got in trouble for payola, even very recently, and wants to charge you 20 clams for a CD. This album has it all, big anthemic radio-friendly smashes, Dark, emotional and personal ballads and more catchy hooks than you can ever wish for! I was already a fan of Kelly Clarkson and was anticipating the release of Breakaway months in advance and even I couldn't have imagined anything this good. It's most definately one of those albums you can leave on and not skip any tracks and still find yourself singing along to every single track.
1. Breakaway - The opener, co-written by Avril Lavigne is anthemic and to be honest better live when the crowd sing it back but still a nice easy opener if a little decieving. Personally my least favorite on the album. 7/10

Vanessa Hudgens is beautiful and I must say,has got talent! People have been putting down this CD but I think its worth the buy.1.Last Night.2/10. I think this a bad opening number for the CD. C'mon people! What are you thinking? How can you call this music? This is nothing but a pathetic attempt by Billy Ray Cyrus and the Disney corporation to make millions upon millions of dollars by selling this awful garbage to you. This is barely music in my book. Real music needs to be kept in peoples stereos and not this pop garbage which will make your ears bleed. Go listenin to The Who, Led Zeppelin or any other classic rock group and try to tell me this is better. I dare you.
