I checked this out from my library. I listened to it first to make sure it was okay to play for my four-and-a-half-year-old son. It was. He loved it. He goes around the house telling the bits he remembers. It's very cute. I would highly recommend this to any parent. Or any person wanting to hear 4 good folk tales well told.

If you have ever seen the movie "So I Married an Axe Murderer" with the scenes of Mike Myers reciting poetry, then you will have a pretty good idea of the kind of reading Marvin Miller gives to "Green Eggs and Ham" here.
I bought this disc (along with "The Cat in the Hat Songbook") as humorous Christmas present for my wife; we are both Seuss fans. While we enjoyed the songbook, which concludes with a reading of one of our all-time favorites: "The Sleep Book," this disc...and the reading of "Green Eggs and Ham" in particular, takes some getting used to.
We have come to enjoy the disc. The rest of the pieces are read pretty straightforwardly. "The Rabbit, the Bear and ... Read More:

We saw them first on Noggin, then live in NYC. The entire family enjoys their songs - from my 9 month old to my 3 yr old to their grandmother! Lots of fun!

I was infatuated with Hayley when I was 13 and this was one of the first albums I ever bought. I found it a bit weird at the time, with its mix of classic numbers (Side By Side), 30's style throwbacks (Jeepers Creepers, Sentimental Sunday), "rock'n'roll" (Ding, Ding, Ding) and "cute" (Cranberry Bog, Jimmie Bean Song). Let's Get Together was great however!! But all are characterised by Hayley's total inability to sing a phrase in one breath, hold a tune, or inject any sort of personality into the music. The arrangements are ghastly. I've toyed with the idea of buying it for old time's sake, but basically, it's unlistenable! You can share her pain if you're brave enough to shell out for it.

Enjoyed it so much, I sent it to my grandson, who loved to listen to Bill Harley when he was little. Our favorite, Zanzabar, was not on this which was a disappointment, but it still great fun to hear Bill's stories all over again.

This VeggieTales CD contains songs from The Ballad of Little Joe, A Snoodle's Tale, and An Easter Carol. This collection of songs is not as good as previous editions only because of the VeggieTales episodes that make up the collection. A Snoodle's Tale was cute but only two songs ("I Want To Dance" and "Sports Utility Vehicle") come from that episode. An Easter Carol was ok but the beautiful "A Hope's Song" and funny "Boids" makes up for what is an otherwise lackluster collection of songs from that show. The songs from The Ballad of Little Joe are easily the highlight of the collection but I find it completely baffling that the Silly Songs With Larry song from that episode, "Bellybutton", was not included! Little Joe is one of the best VeggieTale ... Read More:

This is exactly the kind of score that sound track lovers pray for! If you're a huge fan of John Williams, James Horner, James Newton Howard, Thomas Newman and the new bunch of composers coming in, you'll LOVE this one!
It's much too beautiful and huge for such a poorly written movie full of unfunny cliches and predictable story. This is the first score I have purchased by John Debney and I'll be looking into what else he's done.
The instrumentals are big, lush, loud, inspiring, oh what the heck I'm running out of adjectives. It just gives you GOOSE BUMPS! The opening piece does not waste time getting your attention #3 is just "God's theme" is just plain beautiful, very quiet, but very too the point.

I really thought my daughter would love this CD--after all, she watches Playhouse Disney everyday. The songs and shows featured on the CD are the shows that are on really early in the morning (JoJo's Circus, Higglytown Heroes, Bear in the Blue House). Too bad my daughter doesn't wake up until 8:30 or 9, so she has no interest in these shows. The new shows aren't on the CD, so don't expect to hear anything from Mickey Mouse (my daughter's favorite) or Handy Manny, and there are only 2 songs from the Doodlebops. It's a big dud at my house, and my daughter threw a huge tantrum the last time I tried to play it for her. Not good.
