I liked John Pizzarelli and bossa nova before I found out about this album, so buying it was a natural choice for me. Brazilian music is some of the most beautiful made in the world, and Pizzarelli respects that tradition while blending it with his unique style. If you're a fan of bossa nova looking for something new, or a jazz listener in need of a mostly lighthearted summery album, pick this up.

Favorite track - Waters of March, a classic Brazilian bossa nova done with a good translation.

Phillip Glass is the newest name on the list of my favorite 3 composers of all time, Bach and John Coltrane being the other two. I must admit, some Phillip Glass can bore the life out of living entity. This album sounds natural and resonates tremendously more-so than any album made by modern/traditional orchestral instruments. The flutes are my favorite, they pierce the air with massive strength but also have a round, very natural, and very warm sound. This album definitely lets you know how the indigenous people feel about nature.

What is American Music? This also applies to "Brazilian Music". You have different genres within a country. This CD was given to me as a gift. It sat in a cabinet untouched for a full year. Then one day I thought, let me see what this Brazilian thing is about. Well, all I can say is, this CD is wonderful! It is HAPPY music! Put it in your car and sing out loud in a language you do not know. I have pulled in to my miserable corporate job with a smile on my face. It's good alright!....try it, you'll like it...unless that is... if you have limitations to your musical acceptance.

i too grew up hearing her voice on my moms stereo as she sang along with her.
she's got an amazing voice thats so timeless and heartfelt. she puts her entire self into each song so it seems. Her voice is just as soothing as it is powerful.

Recently I bought Cesaria Evora under the recommendation of a cuban Doctor;I hoped to find some of the rythm I used to swing on in my head.
It did not happen for me!

Everybody knows that reggae is the punk rocker's preferred style of World music, but Strummer was at home in any third world culture. He certainly sounds at home on this CD, playing straight-up traditional, acoustic Central American music, almost all of it instrumental (with three or four terrific vocal tracks)--even more at home than he ever did on any reggae/dub/rap song he did with the Clash. For me, the Walker soundtrack provides a total foreshadowing of the kind of music he would make later with the Mescaleros, espeically on Global A-Go Go. But this CD is not just an interesting artifact for the Strummer scholar; it's also a very enjoyable listen. Si ud. es un verdadero fan de Soda Stero no puede pasar la oportunidad de tener este video en formato DVD.

Desafortunadamente, si es tan fan como cree se verá decepcionado al darse cuenta que faltan varias piezas importantes de este concierto, entre ellas sonoman, coral y superstar.

Seguramente tiene algo que ver con derechos de autor... es una lástima.
