This a great single cd collection of Van's great hits but it lacks linear notes, musician information, photos, and other credits. Most cds contain these things in a little booklet inside a four sided cover. I am sure that being a serious collector as I am, I would assume other collectors would miss these things.Instead of this there is a note in the inside cover that says to get this information you must go to a internet site. Whats up with this? Is this the future of cds--to save money and not include this information? I hope not, This is why I do not download any cds--I want to have this information right on the cover or inside. I am sure other collectors would agree.

Dusty in Memphis has a timeless quality to it that is the mark of an album/cd that has become a classic. As evidenced by Shelby Lynn's recent homage to it the material remains fresh and undated. Dusty is in fine vocal form on these selections and the vaunted Memphis rhythm section does her proud. The addition of the numerous additional songs on this extended package make it a must have. I just sent this cd as a gift to a friend who had bought the Shelby Lynn but didn't own Dusty and she was blown away. Any serious pop music fan or collector should (and probably already does) own this.

I have liked this album better each time I listen to it, and I definitely like it better than "Black". Her voice is noticeably better, and the caustic humor is just as biting. "You should be stronger than me", is a great example.

So here's the short version,
Frank is a very good CD if... you love old school R&B (60's)
AND
You aren't put off by bad language, and adult themes. In other words, I would never play it with my parents or kids in the room, but I like it for what it is.

Whenever you release a big album (be it classic, certified platinum or both), expectations are always gonna be high for your follow-up. How do you exactly follow an album like Mary J. Blige's 2005 hit, The Breakthrough? Well, she must not have worried about it, as Growing Pains is another great album.

Although her first single, "Just Fine", wasn't exactly the smash that "Be Without You" was, it showed her on a more fun and upbeat track than usual. But for everyone who says that she sounds best on tracks about drama, "Hurt Again" and "Talk to Me" are right up your alley. I do not like R&B that well that I would buy a whole CD but I wanted to take a chance with this Cd and it was well worth it. All the songs are great. Do want I did go ahead and buy the Cd. Buy it is well worth it I promise you you would love the Cd

This CD was nothing but a disappointment. What a shame to hear such a wonderful voice used for such bad songs and arrangements. This is not worthy of her voice.

It's a refreshing, fun album, with no really weak songs and quite a few that are really catchy. It's not for everyone, granted, but I enjoy it a lot.
