brilliant!! unsurpassable by Foo's standards. this CD didnt quickly become a favorite of mine until i found myself constantly grabbing it if i was going somewhere for a long drive or if it was nice out. i dunno why i just really liked it.

disk 2 stayed in its case for more than a year before i listened to it after the first time i got it. i remember thinking, ok this is good, better than i remembered and then after a few spins within a few days it hit me that it was actually AWESOME, the songs are so so good. On The Mend being a favorite of mine and undoubtly one of my all time fav Foo songs.

it's got a *bit* too much comedy/dialogue in it for me, but i really like it. doesn't get old fast, can listen to it a lot. wish there was a bit more music but it's still darn good.

I can't even tell you how many times I've purchased a movie soundtrack only to be disappointed by the mediocre (at best) collection. Before Garden State, I'm pretty sure the last soundtrack I bought was for Men in Black back in '97. Major disappointment there.

So when I locked onto the Garden State soundtrack, I wavered. I checked out the song clips on Amazon and decided to sit on it for awhile. But I couldn't get the clips out of my head. Do you have any idea how annoying it is to only know 30 seconds of a great song? So I finally gave in. I purchased the CD, and worried that somehow it was going to turn out like one of those movies where they show all the good parts in the preview.

I am a casual fan of the duo. I started looking for a compilation of their greatest hits and came upon "The Very Best Of Daryl Hall & John Oates". I thought great. Then I started looking at the tracks for my all time favorite "She's Gone". It was no where to be found on this compiliation. What? Are you kidding me; no "She's Gone" on "The Very Best of Daryl and John Oates". That song is arguably their greatest hit. Omitting it from the collection is a major infraction. As such this compiliation is not worth two cents to me.

This is a great CD with lots of different music! Willie is always good but the combination with other artists and older and newer songs makes this CD special. There was stuff we hadn't heard before!

I can't believe it's taken me 12 years before writing this review. What I am glad of though is that I didn't write this within a year of buying "Evil Empire"; when this came out in 1996, I - like many - was expecting a bombastic array of accessible riffage, heavy ranting and slick production similar to RATM's debut. What we got however was a grimy, dark and sinister effort that better showed off RATM's hiphop and punk influences. This was a shock. And it probably explains why it took me a while to get into. Now however, I listen to this album with a huge amount of satisfaction. Everything about it is great: Zack de la Rocha's voice is so aggressive, so vitriolic and just so downright convincing; the guitars and bass (oh, the BASS!) tap very different frequencies ... Rage it is one of the greates bands of the 90s and on this album they prove it! It starts with Testify which is a really good song, and just keeps getting better and better, you just wanna keep listening to it over and over again, I totally recommend it!! for an excellent price it is a must have!!
