Who was Michael Hedges? One of the greatest acoustic guitar players ever, for sure, and a brilliant composer, but much more than that. His total mastery of technique enabled him to transcend the boundaries of his instrument and to speak with a direct connection to his soul. Not a striving to reach such a state, but the outpouring of a true master, of one who has attained it. I hear his music and no longer wonder about the reason for existence. Not to say that all of his music attains this lofty level, but a great deal does. Oracle might not be his best work, (although it is my personal favorite) but it's definitely in the top three.

My first Danny Write CD was Black and White Encore. I heard it in a gift shop and found myself looking for the "live" piano player. I love Danny Write CD's and Healer of Hearts is no different. It is very easy listening and quite soothing. The quality of this CD will have you, too, looking for the piano player.

My only exposure to Jim Brickman prior to this CD had been "The Gift", which I think is fantastic. I bought "Love Songs & Lullabies" as I anticipated the birth of our long-awaited first child, and it did not disappoint. Although I particularly enjoy the instrumentals, the song "Beautiful" spoke to me in a special way as I nursed my daughter and thought about what she meant to me. I still cry every time I hear it. I have many "lullabies" CDs, but this one far surpasses all.

This is a wonderful CD I use it almost everyday in my quiet time with God. It is the most relaxing music. I love listening to the birds sing in the backgound. I had it playing one time with others and they insisted they heard birds outside. They barely belived me that it was a CD.

I met Erquiaga during the "Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Camp" in 2005. The camp is rather traditional style Jazz camp and more focused on improvising. I am a guitar player and Erquiaga was our combo teacher. We had three sax players, a piano, drums, an upright bass, and a guitar. You get the idea... I found him an excellent Jazz music educator. And I also found him as a great jazz guitar player after seeing him playing during the faculty concert. The camp is all about Jazz.
After the camp is over, I did some web search to find any Erquiaga's CD and I found this one. Without thinking much nor reading about it I just ordered it. When I put the CD into my CD player, I was just stunned in two ways: (1) It was not a Jazz. (2) What a great music ... Read More:

George Winston's piano playing is always interesting, and it's great to hear him work out on songs in a New Orleans mode. His take on music by Booker, Butler and Dr John is actually pretty impressive. He's got his own approach and the chops to pull it off. The fact that this album supports the Katrina victims also comes as an extra recommendation.

Glad I bought this used. The 3 disc set sounds nice but not really necessary. Disc 1 is music only. Disc 2 requires a second CD player and speaker, like a boom box. I don't know about other people, but I'm not inclined to go to the trouble to even listen to the second disc. Disc 3 is a DVD with nothing really genuinely worth watching.
The music has a few Arkenstone moments but nothing that we've not heard before; and, frankly I'm getting tired of the Celtic pieces - Arkenstone is much more creative than that.

One of the best New Age recordings ever done. Every track compliments the one before it to create a landscape of beautiful sounds that relax and soothe you to your every muscle and bone!
Release Date August 25, 1998
I like mellow New Age music, although I prefer the more electric, rowdy fusion music. But still, when a special album comes out that really shines as a masterpiece, you have to give The Devil his due. Conferring With the Moon is such a special masterpiece. I won't go into my personal musical history, although I have tried recording and putting my own songs together into an album, and I know that you never realize how songs are going to come together into an 'album unit' until you hear the album as a whole. And every once in a while, the right collection of songs just comes together and gels and becomes something special...an entity that is just greater than the sum of its parts. William Ackerman acheived that goal with this album! Some of the tunes are solo ... Read More:
