I bought this CD purely for the first track, it is such a beautiful arrangement of Faure's Pavane. Someone had emailed me an mp3 of the piece about 8 years, but I had no info on who it was was performed by or where to find out. It took me 8 years and alot of posts on bulletin boards to finally find out. This Cd is worth it for the first track alone, although there are a bunch of other nice tracks on here.

What can be nicer than fusing every magnum opus onto one cd? Will Ackerman made his way into my view of music through the Echoes radio program on 88.5. Even then, his music was unparalleled to other guitarists. Every couple of nights, his music would come on and I'd know it first hand. His skills with the guitar opened me to a new world of music which to this day has grown stronger and made me more willing to explore new areas in music.

I personally listened to Manuel Barrueco playing life some years ago. I am very impressed with his guitar techniques - he is just as good as John Williams. I don't think I'll need to explain who Astor Piazzolla is?

This DVD is definitely intermediate level stuff. He starts with a quick review of the 5 basic scale patterns, pentatonic, blues, and diatonic, plus the related chords. If you've read Fretboard Logic this will be familiar. Then a quick review of which scales go with which chords. Nice. Then arpeggios and how to use them. Also nice. Then he puts theory in action by teaching some very nice country and blues licks, then some Brazilian and a pop tune with altered chords. Just a very pleasant DVD, full of good info and nice tunes. Mr Findlay has a very breezy teaching style. The licks work on electric guitar as well. Lots of info in a short time. One of the best guitar teaching DVDs I've seen. And the price is right.

I have had the good fortune of attending a Parkening concert in Denver, CO. a few years ago and I found his guitar virtuosity almost unequalled. I have also heard John Williams and the Romeros. Parkening however is ranked right at the top along with John Williams.

This album is wonderful. It makes my life bearable and actually very special. I particularly love listening to Echoes In Time, Dinner For Two, Garden Waltz, and New England. But everything on this album is amazing! As I stated in the previous review I made about another album of his, I cannot wait to listen to a new Esteban Ramirez album. May God bless him for producing such beautiful songs. In my humble opinion, he has taken piano music to another level. I will always be grateful for his music.

This powerful presentation keeps me focused and relaxed and alert all at the same time. I keep my CD in my car where I am convinced it improves my focus and improves my attitude. I have also given this to my road-rage type family members and convinced it will soothe the angry beast in them. THis music is uncategorizable...it swells from sea to sea and o'er the mountains of my mind.

I love Peter Kater and most of his music without occult or shaman titles in them, because the truth is, it is part of a cult thinking and spiritual darkness. I studied it for years as I did other cults and I know people firsthand who were involved with the illuminated cult and "ism. Otherwise he has an excellent talent and beautiful spirit in music and melodic creation on the piano and you cannot deny that he has a God-given gift, if and when he ever acknowledges that is truly where it comes from.

I remember my surprise on hearing the first album in Ciani's Pianissimo series. I had her so identified with the things I didn't like about electronic music that her ability and musicality on the acoustic piano simply blew me away. Two albums in this series later I can still say that Ciani is one of the best light jazz / new age pianists in the business. Something that I cannot say about her synthesizer work. Go figure.

For some reason Pianissimo III did not initially grab me the way the first two albums did. Perhaps because a few of the pieces in mid-album are a bit mechanical and awkward.
