This is a moving and beautiful CD. I have all his CDs, and these reinterpretations are welcome and moving. It's a sin that Sony/BMG basically killed off Windham Hill and has no plans to release new product. I listen to all types of music, from the softest to the loudest. We need the types of alternative that his former label provided, as a contrast to the abrasive stuff being projected from most radio stations now(not that I don't like some of it - and not that I actually listen to commercial radio stations). We need Will, and George Winston, Liz Story, Alex Di Grassi, etc,. I know that there are some artists making this type of music, but it was great to be able to track them from one central source. I like the mixture of the nature sounds with the piano, the melodies are quite beautiful, good for driving. If you prefer something without the nature sounds, but still enjoy the piano instrumentals, try a young gentleman called Justin Hunter, and Australian Independent artist. He's quite talented also.

Pierre Bensusan's Intuite is the most brilliant solo acoustic guitar recording i've ever heard and I've heard a ton! Everytime I listen to the cd I hear new things in it. His dialogue with the instrument is jaw dropping. To the reviewer who wrote about Kaki King........I think Kaki King is a great player but is not near to the level of musicianship as Pierre on the guitar. He's depth on guitar goes very deep...so this recording might take a few times to listen to to take it in. Once you're in you will be spellbounded by this genius.

It is unfortunate that the person who wrote the previous review had so much trouble with receiving a purchase in time. I must assert that the problem most likely lay in the delivery company, postal or otherwise.

I have been an Amazon customer for nearly ten years and have NEVER had a single problem with Amazon.com. I first fell under the spell of David Lanz's new age piano stylings when I purchased 1996's SACRED ROADS. At that time Lanz had already been recording for more than a decade. In 2002 I picked up the 2-disc anthology ROMANTIC: THE ULTIMATE DAVID LANZ NARADA COLLECTION. At 27 tracks and two hours of music, it was a nearly flawless compilation. Three years later Narada lifts ten tracks from that album and calls it BEST OF. The music is, of course, excellent; but it's nowhere near as complete--or satisfying--as ROMANTIC. Not only is the 2-disc collection a better buy, it makes BEST OF unnecessary.
