Great music, and a great transfer to SACD multichannel. It seems to be much easier to allow your ear to focus on the various instruments as the band plays. You get much more effect of being in a small concert hall with this mix. Even though it's the original mix, anyone with the right equipment (SACD Player and a decent 5.1 surround system) shouldn't be dissapointed in getting this SACD.

I owned this previously and I am glad to have it again. It will teach about the blues from their inception at the turn of the 20th century to the present day. All the classic songs that were later done by UK acts are here as well. If you can find it used, it is a better bargain because there is a lot here that is "filler not killer" but if you want to get a blues education, buy this collection.

A great, inspired set from the Allmans -- as if anything from this time wouldn't be? Not on the level of their Fillmore masterpiece (why aren't the entire recordings released?), but great nonetheless and makes today's "jam bands" by comparison so unneccessary. The Swingin' Pig bootleg offers a smokin' 14 min. version (weren't they all) of In Memory of Elizabeth Reed, for some strange reason not on the "street legal" release.

If you buy one Son House, and I repeat if, then let it be this 1965 double disc session. I wont go over board here with dripping detail as to why you should own this album but if you acquire only one Son House album from his renewal period in the 60's let it be dis a one.....

This is a classic album that no fan of Kelly Joe Phelps should miss collecting. It is becoming rare and difficult to find. Kelly at his very best.

i saw george and the destroyers years back when move it on over came out. at that time in interviews george said that he didn't know why they were so popular, all they do is bang the hell out of 3 chords. and bang the hell out of them they do! tight band, powerful vocals, great songs.
Release Date December 13, 1990
The songs here are slightly "enhanced" - nice presence, rich bass, brighter high end - and might be an improvement over the old CD on some songs, but this reissue is fatally flawed. Both "Ax Sweet Mama" and "Maria Elena" are grotesquely slowed down, dropping a semitone or so and dragging lethargically. Also, several of the songs on side 2 have a good bit of crackle in the right channel. Stick with the regular CD. This is a mess.

Man oh man oh man - THIS is the best of the best, the best remaster of the best of The Masters of American Rock/Jazz/Blues ever, The Allman Brothers Band when they were at their peak. The sound engineering on this CD has to be heard to be believed, but take my word for it, it is freaking excellent! Eat A Peach, when I first bought the album as a heartbroken junior in High School, was a great testament to the band and to their fallen leader, the greatest guitarist ever, Duane Allman. Of course the stuff Duane played on was excellent, but what we fans were ultimately saved by were the new recordings they made without him. They were so damn good with Duane, and yet the band was still damn good without him ( or should I say, without Duane's guitar playing, for he was certainly there in ... Read More:

George Thorogood & The Destroyers' self-titled debut album is also his best ever. What a lot of people who are against alcohol don't realize is that the drinking songs are just a facade for the fact that Thorogood introduced the majority of the rock audience to the music's blues roots. The best songs on this album are "Madison Blues and "Ride On Josephine", the latter of which is a Bo Diddley cover. Being that I don't drink, I feel that the aforementioned songs will be remembered long after "I Drink Alone" and "(If You Don't Start Drinkin') I'm Gonna Leave" have faded out of memory. This album is the first place to discover George Thorogood and his great, rootsy band.
