Less Than Jake is my favorite band, but if this had been the first CD of them that I had ever listened to, I wouldve never realized just how sweet they are. Every other CD they have would get 5 stars from me.

I first heard of madness when I was a little kid; I watched the very fist ever "Al TV" on MTV, hosted by WEIRD Al Yankovic, and he played a video for a song called House of Fun. I fell in love with the video and song both. It was very uptempo, crazy and fun. Well, as luck would have it, my brother happened to find the tape a few weeks later at a used music store. He brought it home and we listened to it front to back, and every song was great. It still is the most fun I've ever had listening to one tape. I haven't listened to them for a long time until probably a year ago or so, when Our House was used for a coffe commercial. I bought the CD from amazon, and I have been wearing it out. It completely takes me back to being a kid again. Anyone who ... Read More:

Given that reggae is an R&B subgenre, it isn't suprising that there have been countless covers of American soul songs by Jamaican artists. This one may feature the estimable Toots Hibbert but it is a plodding effort. The song selection is dubious and the production flat.
For the reggae fanatic, many excellent covers are found in the amazing Trojan Records box sets. For the more occasional listener, I suggest an album by the Blues Busters titled "Phillip and Lloyd," which can be gotten on Amazon. it may not have a star familiar to Americans or a Memphis session cooked up by some record exec, but it's got a lot more spunk and two standout singers. (The Blues Busters were popular in Jamaica, and Amazon also has other titles by the pair.)

Times are tough for all the punks these days. Every crappy little SoCal band thinks they're political geniuses just cause they hate Bush, The Dead Kennedys turned into a parody, The Ramones are being used to market everything from cell phones to Pepsi, and the few good bands left are just making the same albums over and over again. So, in the new millenium, my hope hanged on two bands that were putting out genius music: McLusky and Propagandhi. Well, McLusky broke up, and Propagandhi turned into a metal band. Just when I seriously considered slitting my wrists and calling it quits, a friend of mine slips me an album by a band called Choking Victim. The front cover intrigued me, and when he told me that part of the album was a kind of death metal, ... Read More:

It's a shame that I am only now discovering the amazing band that is the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra. Anyone slightly interested in ska music will love the sick horn licks and tight changes on this album. The lead singer's nearly incomprehendible rants only add to the charm. The album delivers high energy music with amazing arrangements and exciting tunes.

I think this is the best Good Charlotte album ever. I love the entire album. It is their best album that was ever recorded. This shows some good punk music. Well worth the money

Zox continues to amaze me and if you think the CD is great.....see them live. Between Eli's vocals and Swain's amazing energy I couldn't ask for more. I was blown away by "The Wait" but in my opinion "Line in the Sand" goes even further. Think of a sandwich made of Alt. Rock and strings......its a good sandwhich.....

Despite the fact that some of the biggest names in reggae are missing (Lee "Scratch" Perry, Israel Vibrations, Alton Ellis, etc) this reggae box rules for two reasons:
1 - The song slection is pretty killer
2 - It acts as an excellent introduction to anyone looking to jump into reggae with both feet.
So put aside Beanie Man, sell your Matisyahu and trade in your Sean Paul CDs and pick this puppy up instead.
