The Forces of Evil are a side-project of the well renouned Reel Big Fish and just like their lyrics the Forces of Evil lyrics are just that...Evil! But when i say that i don't mean it's a bad thing, i mean it in a very good way, very upbeat true to the style with their last song "Fight For Your Right To Skank" and their "Angry Anthem" puts it all together. if you are a Reel Big Fish fan this album is for you.

this compilation is probably one of the best i've ever heard. sure, not every song on here is great, or even "good", but the idea of putting together such a collection is brilliant. many of the songs rank among the top 5 of my favorite songs by the band who wrote them. short and sweet! and the songs that aren't that great... they're over so fast you don't have time to go completely insane listening to them.

a lot of reviews i've seen say it's a great way to see which bands you may want to look into further... for many of the songs i'd say that's fine, but there are also a lot where the bands took the arguably silly idea of a huge collection of 30 second songs and were silly with it, or did something completely different than their ... There are some attempts of great ska albums out there and many fall short. This my friend does what I wish all Ska albums would do which is make me want to skank, laugh, and drink all at one time. Seriously The Slackers have always put out good albums but this is really one of there finest.

Remember swing music? Yeah, that stuff from the early 20th century? Well, in case you never remembered or heard of it, the swing genre got a short lived revival, started by Royal Crown Revue. Not quite sure when it really started to get popular, nevertheless, here's The Cherry Poppin' Daddies, one of the most untalented bands that ever tried playing jazz.

To be fair, there's some snappy arrangements, in here, which would be: Zoot Suit Riot, When I Change Your Mind, Brown Derby Jump, Master and Slave. That's it. I found this album some years ago in a used music bin. I only had one album by them at the time. I decided to pick this one up. I will say that i liked it. It has some fun ska tunes on it. "Kinder Words", "Sad silence", "hell of a hat", "pictures to prove it", "365 days", "toxic toast", "bronzing the garbage", and "jump through the hoops" are all rather enjoyable. The bosstones give some good tunes on this album, but not their best effort.
