The self-titled debut from the Aggrolites is quite stunning. This follow-up was a huge let down by comparison. The songs sound uninspired and don't have the same soul-filled punch of the first album. It sounds like they rushed this album through the studio with less care and thought into the music. The supposed "bonus track" is the biggest joke of a song - it's basically listening to eighteen and a half minutes of a metronome. The same beat playing for more than 18 minutes. Hopefully this band will bounce back next time, they are far too talented.

This is one of the compilations that taught me what good vintage Jamaican music is all about! Here are some of the things that makes this music great:

1)Excellent musicians-Duke Reid's studio band consisted of some of the best musicians on the island such as Gladstone Anderson, Ernest Ranglin, Hux Brown, Tommy McCook, Baba Brooks, Jackie Jackson, Winston Wright, and Lyn Taitt. Collectively known as the Supersonics and later, as the Jets.

2)Great singers-Jamaicans are serious about singing. Treasure Isle had some of the top vocalists and vocals groups of the era such as Alton Ellis, the Techniques, Phyllis Dillon, the Paragons, the Melodians,and the Ethiopians to name only a few.

I bought the CD based on hearing their hit. I like the softer pop sound of this CD as opposed to some of their harder CDs. Also, all the songs don't sound alike.

Great documentary. Explains all the details of recording with Bob Marley. The sessions as well as the musicians all give details on how Bob tailored this classic. Bob fans definitely need to pick this one up.

I guess I'm not a fan from the beginning, but I like their heavier stuff. This album doesn't disappoint. The ska grooves are intact, but they have a little more fun with the rock side of the house. Great stuff, highly recommended.

Alright, I know I'm gonna piss off a few so-called "true LTJ fans". First off, if you're a true fan, you'll understand the way they went with the CD. You may not like it, and you may [...] (way too much, I might add) about it, but that can't change the CD. I personally loved it. Tough cookies.

Now on to the review:

1. Welcome to the New South - 10/10 Very nice opener, with a fast guitar riff to get the listener into the song, followed by Chris' signature sound. I can definitely picture them rocking out to this one.
