This cd has excellent sound quality, and all of the songs a Stoopid fan wants to hear. I'd say this is a great addition to the music library of Stoopid fans and fans of reggae music!

Before listening to "All The Hype" all I'd ever heard of FIF was 'When I Go Out' and the Pants rock opera from Quantity is Job 1. I checked All The Hype out on a whim and absolutely fell in love with the band through it all.
While some may argue that the songwriting on All The Hype is a patchwork at best, if you look at Five Iron's other albums, it's easy to see that All The Hype does reflect and influence their other albums. For instance -- the odd recording style of "Giants" parallels FIF2: Electric Boogaloo's "Vultures". "The Phantom Mullet" continues Five Iron's quest for all-around 'fun' songs, following in the footsteps of "Blue Comb '78"and, of course, the Pants rock opera. "World Without End" echoes the uplifting feel of ... Read More:

Need to give this one at least 3 spins before you go thumbs up or down.
This one takes off where California Poppy left. It is a further departure from their early pop sounds. It is kind of a psychedelic, laid-back reggae 'ized' Cali rip-hop with ska and punk overtones --- exotic stuff and you know how exotics are you will either love it or it will just confuse you. I like it more after every spin. Big-B is all over this one and is tight as usual. I like the fact that OPM is blazin' enough to experiment in a world of spineless corporate radio-heads.

What a smile-in-a-box this CD is! You can hardly help tapping your feet or bopping your head as you listen to it. I've been a fan of Toots for years, along with other reggae of that era; this CD was replacing a couple of older albums. I was expecting more from the CD. Unfortunately, I must have gotten a lemon. The sound is a little muffled, the mid-range is muddy, the highs seem compressed or clipped, and the bass is indistinct. Sounds similar in my car, and on my Klipsch (horn-tweeter) computer speakers, and on my Paradigm Monitor 7's on the "real" stereo. And the Klipsch & the Paradigm are noted for teh "brightness" of their sound! It's as if it was recorded from behind the drum set, with the monitors facing away from the microphone. ... Read More:

If this was another ska band (or whatever style you want to call RBF's partying evolution) this would probably be a four or even five star album. But its not just any other band. I have really liked all of RBF's previous full length records, and their live CD is incredible too. But this... sounds like a retread to me.
Aaron Barrett and the rest of the Fish may be happier on their indie label, but their songwriting has never been duller. Oh look! another drinking song! Another song where they drop the F-bomb over and over in the chorus. Its going from a consistent formula to just checking things off the "album to-do" list.
While some people find "Party Down" and it's little style-riffs inventive, I'm sorry but it reeks ... Read More:

The Specials are the stuff of legend, that much can be agreed upon, but what is it about this collection that earns your hard-earned dollar? In a word, rarities. 'Rude Boys Out of Jail,' 'Guns of Navarone,' 'Maggie's Farm,' and 'Ghost Town' are classics worthy of inclusion on any ska collection, but due to the fact they weren't included on The Specials' LPs, they languish in obscurity. Hence this much needed collection. The only caveat to speak of is slightly less than stellar sound due to first generation mastering. Nonetheless, it remains the best Specials collection out there. A very fun, very danceable record.

Let me start out by saying that I love Pepper and have seen them live about four times now. They are just a really fun band to see on stage. This Live DVD, which was filmed over two nights at the Troubadour in Hollywood, does a great job of capturing Pepper's onstage energy and spirit. There are 18 songs on the DVD, running about 80 minutes. All the songs will be easily recognizable to Pepper fans, and both Kaleo and Bret's voices sound amazing. The DVD is also very well produced and edited, and the sound quality is excellent as well. The only downside to the show is that Kaleo and Bret seem to only be able to get the crowd going when they yell and curse at them. Other than that, the concert, the bonus features (music videos, a short documentary, etc) are great and anybody ... Read More:

This was the first CD I heard from Slightly and was immediately taken by the melodic tones with a beat that I could catch on to. The music flowed harmoniously with the progression of the cd. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Times are tough for all the punks these days. Every crappy little SoCal band thinks they're political geniuses just cause they hate Bush, The Dead Kennedys turned into a parody, The Ramones are being used to market everything from cell phones to Pepsi, and the few good bands left are just making the same albums over and over again. So, in the new millenium, my hope hanged on two bands that were putting out genius music: McLusky and Propagandhi. Well, McLusky broke up, and Propagandhi turned into a metal band. Just when I seriously considered slitting my wrists and calling it quits, a friend of mine slips me an album by a band called Choking Victim. The front cover intrigued me, and when he told me that part of the album was a kind of death metal, I was sold. I quickly ... Read More:
