The title of this album is now ironic. When I listen to it I can remember the sweet smell of smoke as an 8 track cranked out music and pick-up trucks and cars formed a lazy half circle around a small fire. Leafs crunched and cracked under our feet and in the night air a few wore jeans jackets and some wore plaid wool shirts but all wore Levi's and sneakers. A silver keg had many many friends and clusters of laughter would roll from one group to the next. We shared the laughs and we shared the beer and the weed. Opinions were so clear. We shared everything but fear. There was so little fear in youth then though we all knew someone in the war far away. That bought it home. Here is the Carly Simon we grew up with singing the songs she did best. Each one is a gem and well mixed for effective listening in today's market. Two Hot Girls on a Hot Summer Night never received the glory of You're So Vain, Mocking Bird, That's the Way I always Thought it Would Be, or Anticipation, but is a wonderful addition to this CD. Kudos!!! Carly fans, BUY IT!

The review title says it all. I count myself extremely fortunate that I stumbled across this record by accident. It was the happiest accident I've had in years.

A beautiful voice, sometimes quirky tunes, and the amazingly lush arrangements by Van Dyke Parks.

I can't stress enough how delighted I am with this record. The orchestral arrangements are so beautiful I could even listen to the record without the vocals and still be taken by it.

No, you don't have to be a fan of this-or-that type of music to enjoy it. Rather, you just have to have a sense of and appreciation for the carefree whimsy of songwriting and music in general.

I am obsessed with this albumn, I listen to it every day. The lyrics to each song are really meaningful and the vocals, music, etc. fit it perfectly. If you've heard the single "Fall for You" and enjoyed it, this entire CD is similar to that single. You can also keep it on low at work all day!

this cd has almost everything you could want from a J.T. best of, however the sound is extremely loud...almost unplayable, if you spin it for longer than 20 minutes, you will have a headache and frayed nerves....I had to get rid of mine for that reason; also, the swearing in "steamroller blues" is edited, what the hell for?

Often reviewed as a sloppy album it nevertheless is historic for the fact that they split up after this album. I am a Beatle lover, so I like most of their songs, but "Let It Be", "The Long and Winding Road", and "I Me Mine" ( from George) are classics. It's a must have for Beatle fans.

I heard Little big town on a tv broadcast about the Nashville CM-Awards and was electrified. Incredible what these 4 musicians are presenting: Fantastic vocals, wonderful guitars and many other "strings" (mandolin, dulcimer etc.) that are perfectly arranged and yet nothing seems to be "overproduced". Even some of the songs, which are written mostly by their own have the guts to be evergreens. Listen to "Evangeline" or "i`m with the band".
I never thought, that there would be ever a group, who is able to combine the particular skills of the Eagles, the Corrs and Keith Urban.
Little big town for sure can do!
In the credits Karen writes: "I like to thank God for the opportunity to share the gifts you have given to me"
I agree completely.
