I have been a Bonnie Raitt fan for 35+ years. I have every album, cd and DVD. I've seen her in concert 10+ times. If you have to own only one of her albums this is it. Great, spontaneous music. Listen to "Give It Up" on a really good audio system. It is dense, lively. "Love Has No Pride" is a classic. The whole thing stands the test of time.

I bought during a strange stage in my life where I was trying to figure out where I stood and how I was going to stand there. It has been about six years since I purchased this album initially, and now that I own on it on vinyl thanks to my wonderful girlfriend Katie and her mother's friend Tom, I figured I'd give it a spin. Pun intended.

Some back story on this album: it was the last studio release from John Lennon before his unfortunate passing in 1980. Most of the songs featured were written about his new love for life at age forty, emphasizing his love for Yoko and his now four year old son, Sean, who he and Yoko had given up four years of touring to raise.

A little over 10 years after his groundbreaking live album "Live Rust" Young put out this 2 CD live set called "Weld" recorded on the "Ragged Glory" tour. The previous album "Freedom" was a bit of a comeback for Neil. After spending a good part of the 80's experimenting with electronic music, country, rockabilly, blues and just about anything else you could name, his album sales had taken a rather big plunge and radio was all but ignoring him. "Freedom" would feature a song that would bring Young back onto rock radio in a big way with the aptly titled "Rockin In The Free World". This 1975 release was the last of Bob Seger's pre-Silver Bullet Band albums. Seger,who began his musical career about a decade earlier,gives us great tracks like Tina Turner's NUTBUSH CITY LIMITS,TRAVELIN' MAN,the title track,JODY GIRL and KATMANDU(the latter four penned by Seger). Just listening to this album takes you back. Lennon, whatever your politics, was a voice for peace in an insane time in this country. The album reminds me of that time and wonder about other works he would have produced had he lived. Great collection of songs from an outstanding artist.
