I grew up listening to Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell and the like. Listening to this particular album brings back nice memories. It's great to go back to a different time:-) This album is a true classic; hadn't heard it in years and decided to buy it again, this time on CD. "Got you on my mind" is my favorite track on this cd.

I grew up listening to this classic from Bonnie Raitt. My mom played the album so many times, the words are imbedded in my memory. Now I own the cd and can't thank my mom enough for turning me into a huge Bonnie Raitt fan!
Most of these songs bring me to a deeper, bluesy place. I usually choose to listen to this cd when I need to slow down, get a little perspective, and can enjoy a good glass of wine.

It's a must-have for any blues music lover!

This has been his lowest selling album of all his studio albums. It didnt even make it on to the top 10. It barely sold over 500,000 copies. It even has been nicknamed Nebraska 2. It also have been critized because on Nebraska, he did the recordings all by himself at his home on a 4-track recorder with his voice, a acoustic guitar and harmonica. On The GHost Of Tom Joad. He works in a nice studio with a backing band. It is mainly backed by acoustic guitars. The lyrics to many of the tracks are a somber reflection of life in the mid-1990s in america and mexico.

I have been a Bonnie Raitt fan for 35+ years. I have every album, cd and DVD. I've seen her in concert 10+ times. If you have to own only one of her albums this is it. Great, spontaneous music. Listen to "Give It Up" on a really good audio system. It is dense, lively. "Love Has No Pride" is a classic. The whole thing stands the test of time.

this was the first cd from steve earle and it was good for the time when it came out. it has a lot of good songs all of which were singles off the album and some that were not singles. if you like rockin country with a twist of mellow this is the album for you.

John Hiatt's 1988 release "Slow Turning" is a hands down classic. This was my introduction to John Hiatt after I heard the uptempo rocker "Paper Thin" on the local radio station. I soon discovered that this CD was one solid set of songs that were easy to listen to all the way thru. I just happen to listen to this great album the other day on my iPod while driving back from a worksite with a group of co-workers. It had been awhile since I listened to this classic, and towards the end I remembered just how good it is.

"Train a' Comin'" is the type of album that, after you listen to it, you're just left going, "Wow!" and although there are some super-catchy songs (most notably "Sometimes She Forgets,") it really takes a few listens to really completely love this record, or to at least fully appreciate it.
Pretty much everyone I've played this for has the same reaction--it changed them. I've learned more about songwriting from listening to this album than from any other record in my collection, save for my Townes Van Zandt and Hank Williams albums. Speaking of Townes, I often wonder what he thought of Steve's efforts, particularly this record.
